Recently, at the press conference of the State Council New Office, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said that it will accelerate the upgrading of the industrial Internet. The first is to launch new projects and play a good "tough battle" of strengthening the chain; the second is to enhance new infrastructure and play a good "first move" of the digital economy; the third is to expand new applications and play a "team game" that integrates innovation; the fourth is to study new policies and make good use of the "combination fist" to support development. Previously, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued a notice of the 2022 Work Plan of the Industrial Internet Special Working Group.
Data show that the scale of the domestic industrial Internet industry has exceeded the trillion yuan mark. Whether it is from the perspective of industry, industry and link, the development situation in the first quarter is gratifying. The industrial Internet has been applied in 45 major categories of the national economy, and the extension of 5G to the production control link has accelerated, and the total number of projects under construction in the national "5G + Industrial Internet" has reached 2400. The basis is that in the first quarter, the number of new 5G base stations in the mainland reached 134,000, and nearly 1.56 million 5G base stations were opened, and the 5G network has covered all prefecture-level cities and county-level urban areas in the country.

As a product of the deep integration of the industrial system and the Internet system under the digital wave, the industrial Internet is the key support for the new round of industrial revolution. In recent years, they have used their own advantages to open up the layout of the industrial Internet field, actively transformed into industry-driven leaders and matchmakers, fully cooperated with Internet companies and industry-related enterprises, explored more possibilities for the integration of 5G and industrial Internet, tried more application scenarios of 5G industrial Internet, and jointly created a huge digital blueprint of "5G + Industrial Internet".
Under the guidance of the "cloud to digital transfer" strategy, China Telecom has continuously explored and practiced in the field of 5G+ industrial Internet, built a "2+4+31+X" cloud network infrastructure, launched three 5G customized network services of "Zhiyuan, Bilin and Ruyi", and created a series of digital platforms. At present, it has completed the construction of data middle office, business middle office and security middle office, sorted out more than 1,000 atomic capabilities open to the industrial manufacturing field, built an industrial Internet public service platform, covering more than 30 sub-industries such as mining, electricity, shoes and clothing, home appliances, chemical industry, equipment, etc., creating many benchmarking application cases and achieving obvious economic results.
China Mobile has built an industrial Internet product system with "1+4" as the core and an "industrial cloud platform" solution to help millions of industrial enterprises go to the cloud. China Unicom has created five categories, 15 sub-categories of applications and more than 2,000 benchmarking projects around typical industrial scenarios, empowering industrial production to be safer, smarter, more flexible and more efficient.
"5G + Industrial Internet" has a long way to go To further development, we need to climb the steep slope
At present, in the process of creating a "5G + Industrial Internet" upgrade, the direction of operators mainly includes 5G new infrastructure, enterprise intranet transformation, extranet construction, enterprise cloud, big data center construction, etc. At present, the mainland's "5G + industrial Internet" industrial foundation has been continuously consolidated, and the integration effect has initially emerged, but it still faces many problems and challenges, and the development potential needs to be further tapped.
The first is to further do a good job in cross-border integration. At present, operators have limited understanding of the production and operation processes and pain points of industrial enterprises, and they need to further strengthen communication and integration with industrial enterprises.
The second is to build a more complete application scenario and industrial ecology. At present, the "5G + Industrial Internet" scenario is still relatively fragmented, and the customization degree of customization and deployment from the end side, pipe side to the platform side are high, and the deployment is complex, which will bring great challenges to construction and operation. The integration and development of 5G and the industrial Internet has excellent application cases, but these cases generally focus on one or several specific links of the factory, so it is urgent to build a complete industrial ecology.
The third is to create a clear and profitable commercial profit model. Different from the traditional 2C market model, the operating model of industrial enterprises shows diversity and complexity, the network construction and operation and maintenance costs in the early stage of promotion are relatively high, the business model of cooperation between the two sides is still unclear and imperfect, and the effective profit model still needs to be further explored.
The fourth is to create a systematic security system. "5G + industrial Internet" is vulnerable to attacks in various fields such as "end-side-cloud-network-intelligence", and it is necessary to build a systematic regulatory mechanism to create a strong safety net against external attacks for the entire manufacturing industry chain.
