Rooted in the fertile soil of the long-standing Bashu culture, Dazu Stone Carvings, on the basis of absorbing and melting the essence of the early grotto art, have introduced the old and the new, and the extreme work has been exhausted, opening up a new world of grotto art. The statue was built in the early Tang Dynasty, through the late Tang Dynasty, five generations, flourished in the two Song Dynasties, and is the last monument in the history of Chinese grotto art. So far, there are as many as 75 grottoes announced as cultural relics protection units, and more than 50,000 statues have been created, of which the Baodingshan Grottoes are one of the most distinctive grottoes.

Baodingshan Grottoes is the only large-scale grotto in China with an overall conception, which integrates scientific principles into artistic modeling, and its statues, decoration, layout, drainage, lighting, support, perspective, etc., all pay great attention to the beauty of form and artistic conception, which is breathtaking.
