According to the "Cyberspace China" news, the Central Cyberspace Administration and 12 other departments jointly issued a notice confirming the list of IPv6 technology innovation and integration application pilots. A total of 22 comprehensive pilot cities and 96 pilot projects are listed, and 19 units such as China Mobile, Alipay, Baidu and other units have led the application for "IPv6 Technology Innovation and Industrial Development".
The 96 pilot projects focus on seven directions, including "IPv6 Technology Innovation and Industrial Development", "IPv6 Single-stack Deployment Application", and "Simultaneous Implementation of IPv6 and 5G Construction Applications".
At present, promoting the large-scale deployment of IPv6 has become an important national strategy for building a network power. The 14th Five-Year Plan and the 2035 Long-Term Goals outline the emphasis on comprehensively advancing IPv6 scale deployment. In July 2021, the Cyberspace Administration of China, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology jointly issued the Notice on Accelerating the Deployment and Application of the Sixth Edition of the Internet Protocol (IPv6). The notice pointed out that the development of IPv6 in the mainland is in a critical stage of overcoming difficulties and crossing inflection points, and by the end of 2023, an advanced and independent IPv6 technology, industry, facilities, application and security system will be basically built, forming a benign development pattern of market-driven, coordinated and mutual promotion.
