Xiong Zhaomei, a deputy to the People's Congress of Guizhou Province and a non-hereditary inheritor of Maba in Yuezhao Community, Zhongshan District, Liupanshui City

Xiong Zhaomei's hometown is in Maba Village, Yuezhao Township, Zhongshan District, which is a Miao village inhabited by crooked Miao compatriots, which used to be a small mountain village with closed and backward information.

"Since I was a child, I have been making batik with my elders, and I can only make a living after working hard all year round." As he grew older, Xiong Zhaomei was surrounded by more and more villagers who dreamed of working in developed areas to earn money, listening to them tell about the wonderful world outside, Xiong Zhaomei fell into meditation: Is it possible that the batik embroidery skills passed down from generation to generation can only barely solve the family's food and clothing? Did he just silently stay in the mountains and suffer poverty all his life?

In 2012, Xiong Zhaomei resolutely chose to start a business at home, and through saving money to set up a batik handicraft workshop, taking the first step of starting a workshop and changing poverty.

Xiong Zhaomei said that her batik handicraft workshop has also indirectly led to the development of peripheral handicraft products, "Since 2013, I began to teach apprentices to learn Miao batik, embroidery and other skills, and led many farmers to set up batik family workshops." ”

"In recent years, Guizhou has comprehensively promoted rural revitalization and vigorously strengthened the protection and development of cultural heritage, traditional villages, and villages with ethnic characteristics, which is a great opportunity to inherit and develop and enhance the excellent traditional culture in rural areas." Xiong Zhaomei said that in the future, with the attention and support of party committees and governments at all levels, she is more confident to make the national cultural industry bigger and stronger, pass on the protection of Guizhou's intangible culture, and do her best to contribute to the beautiful and colorful Guizhou.

Xiong Zhaomei said that the next step will be to make full use of modern handicraft advanced production technology to inject modern cultural elements into Miao handicrafts, continuously improve the quality and connotation of Miao handicrafts, and promote the modernization and development of the Miao handicraft industry. At the same time, it combines traditional culture with modern needs, actively innovates batik techniques, varieties and business methods, and continuously develops and produces handmade batik tourism products that meet local and domestic and foreign needs to meet the needs of various consumer groups.

"We will also actively explore new ways to inherit intangible cultural heritage in the new era, effectively integrate the development of intangible cultural heritage, continuously increase local economic income, and walk out of a 'road to prosperity' to rural revitalization." Xiong Zhaomei said.
