On May 1st, the Alxa Left Banner Cultural Center (Azuo Banner Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center), together with the Alxa Left Banner Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Association and the Shalibol Wrestling Association, held a week-long training course for non-hereditary inheritors and backbone strength of Shalibol wrestling in Bayanhot and Shuote Folk Culture Village.
It is reported that Shalibol wrestling is a traditional national sport with a long history, which has been widely flourished and inherited in recent years in the Sumu towns of the Alxa League and some areas inhabited by Mongolians in Xinjiang, Qinghai and Gansu. In June 2008, Inner Mongolia Alxa Salibo wrestling was included in the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage protection list.
Alatan Ula, executive chairman of the Alxa National Wrestling Association and chairman of the Alxa Intangible Cultural Heritage Association, introduced that the purpose of holding this training course is to further standardize and strengthen the protection and inheritance of the Shalibol wrestling intangible cultural heritage project, so that the inheritors and key personnel can exchange and learn from each other the effective inheritance teaching methods and advanced experience, so that the valuable intangible cultural heritage can be better inherited and developed.
