
At about 11:32 on January 18, 2022, a hazardous chemical transport vehicle leakage accident occurred in Mamanshan Town, 1905 kilometers from the Gansu section of the G7 Beijing-Xin expressway (Xinjiang to Inner Mongolia), and a tank truck loaded with 33 tons of crude benzene collided with the central guardrail of the road and overturned, resulting in damage to the vehicle and the leakage of crude benzene, a dangerous chemical in the tank.
After the accident, because the leaked crude benzene is toxic and inflammable and explosive, the Mamanshan Expressway Brigade implemented two-way traffic control on the expressway, the Municipal Emergency Management Bureau, the Traffic Police Detachment of the Municipal Public Security Bureau, the Jiuquan Fire Detachment, and the Mamanshan Town Government immediately set up an emergency disposal team to carry out on-site disposal, and Comrade Yang Jianbin, member of the Party Committee of the Jiuquan Municipal Public Security Bureau and head of the Traffic Police Detachment, rushed to the scene to guide the accident handling and rescue work.
The accident was disposed of at 21:30 on the same day, and the road returned to normal traffic.
