Xue Yue, a famous anti-Japanese general, was bullied in his later years, lived in a small bungalow and was slaughtered, and died at the age of 103

As the saying goes, when the country is chaotic, the world is a hero. On September 18, 1939, the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression broke out.

In this war, a large number of brave and tenacious fighters who defended the country and defended the country emerged on the mainland, and there were also heroic and resourceful generals.

As we all know, the role of generals in the army is extremely important. A good general can often lead the team to success.

Among the famous anti-Japanese generals, there is a nickname

"Tiger Boy"

General Xue Yue, he was a rare general, defeated countless enemy troops, and made great contributions to the War of Resistance Against Japan.

It was also such a famous anti-Japanese general, but in his later years he was persecuted by Lee Teng-hui and lived in a small bungalow to be slaughtered! What kind of story is this?

Xue Yue, a famous anti-Japanese general, was bullied in his later years, lived in a small bungalow and was slaughtered, and died at the age of 103

Early life

Xue Yue was born on December 27, 1896, in a small village in Jiufeng Town, Lechang County, Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province. After Xue Yue was born, because his father admired Yue Fei very much and regarded Yue Fei as an example, he named him Xue Yangyue.

After Xue Yangyue grew up, he changed his name to Xue Yue, with the intention of not only admiring Yue Fei, but also learning from Yue Fei.

In 1907, Xue Yue entered a military academy in Baoding and graduated in 1910.

In 1914, Xue Yue joined our party, and soon after entered a military academy in Wuchang to continue his studies, where he spent two years. In June 1918, Xue Yue joined Sun Yat-sen's revolutionary army to aid the Fujian-Cantonese Army and served as a captain's staff officer.

In 1924, Chiang Kai-shek led the army on a crusade, and Xue Yue held an important position in the First Division of the Guangdong Army. In February 1925, Xue Yue was promoted to the post of deputy commander of the 14th Division and the commander of the 14th Regiment of the First Army.

During the Second Crusade, Xue Yue was brilliant in his wisdom and often won more with less, and he was also praised by Chiang Kai-shek.

In my opinion, a good general is the soul of an army. If you want to be a good general, you must not only have courage, but also have strategy. Only a general with courage and no strategy is only a reckless man, and a general with courage and strategy can see through the enemy's layout and win the battle. And Xue Yue's first appearance on the battlefield was able to repel the enemy army one after another, which was quite a general.

Three Battles of Changsha

In September 1939, Xue Yue commanded the First Battle of Changsha.

In late September, the Japanese sent out six divisions and regiments to attack Changsha in six routes. At that time, Xue Yue mobilized his troops and deployed them on the shores of Ganbei, Southern Hubei, and Dongting Lake to deal with the Japanese attack from the flank.

After more than twenty days of fighting, the Japanese suffered heavy losses and were defeated, with more than 40,000 casualties. After the victory at the First Battle of Changsha, Chiang Kai-shek was overjoyed, greatly praised Xue Yue, and rewarded the soldiers who participated in the battle with 150,000 yuan.

In September 1941, the Japanese army dispatched 150,000 soldiers, supported by aircraft and ships, to attack Changsha for the second time. In the face of this Japanese invasion, Xue Yue mobilized 200,000 troops and deployed troops in the mountains on the eastern side to contain the enemy. In the end, the Japanese army suffered a fatal blow in the ambush area of the Miluo River and the Laodao River, and had to flee into the wilderness and return to the stronghold.

With the defeat of the Japanese army, it meant that the Second Battle of Changsha commanded by Xue Yue was a great success.

The Japanese army, which had failed to attack Changsha twice, remained undeterred and attacked Changsha again in December. This time, the Japanese launched a fierce attack on the New Wall River position. Xue Yue formulated a strategy and fought a final decisive battle with the Japanese army at the Laodao River and Liuyang River.

On New Year's Day of the following year, the Japanese army attacked Changsha. On January 4, 1942, Xue Yue commanded the army to surround the Japanese army, and then launched an attack to break the Japanese defense line.

The Third Battle of Changsha lasted more than half a month and was finally victorious.

After the battle, Xue Yue also received a Medal of Blue Sky and White Sun.

On August 15, 1945, the Japanese surrendered and the War of Resistance Against Japan ended.

On October 10 of the same year, U.S. President Harry S. Truman awarded Xue Yue a medal of freedom in recognition of his great contributions to the War of Resistance Against Japan.

The victory of these three battles in Changsha was indispensable to Xue Yue, as the commander. From the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression to the end of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Xue Yue made countless military achievements in successive years of conquest.

He was the Chinese general who annihilated the Japanese army the most.

Some people said

Xue Yue was the first general of China's anti-Japanese resistance, and in terms of the number of enemies destroyed, Xue Yue deserved it.

Later life

Later, Chiang Kai-shek retired to Taiwan, and his generals followed him, including Xue Yue.

After Xue Yue arrived in Taiwan, he was not reused by Chiang Kai-shek, but lived an idle life every day with a post.

However, although Xue Yue did not have real power, because he had achieved many results in the War of Resistance, his treatment was not bad.

After the death of Chiang Kai-shek's father and son, the person in power became Lee Teng-hui.

After Lee Teng-hui took power, he repeatedly suppressed Xue Yue, causing Xue Yue's originally beautiful life to be destroyed.

then

The property rights of the house where Xue Yue lived were in the name of the Bank of Taiwan, and the rent was borne by the committee where Xue Yue served.

After Lee Teng-hui came to power, he was ambitious and repeatedly wanted to expand his rights, which caused dissatisfaction among the majority of the people. Once, Xue Yue rejected Lee Teng-hui's proposal at a meeting and was immediately retaliated against.

Lee Teng-hui used his position and power to remove the leasing committee and privately instructed the bank to raise the rent.

After the committee was removed, Xue Yue, who had no job, had difficulty paying the rent, and the bank, at the behest of Lee Teng-hui, raised the rent and repeatedly urged Xue Yue to pay the rent.

However, Xue Yue was penniless and refused to pay the high rent, so the bank sued Xue Yue in court, and Xue Yue finally had to move out of his original residence.

In the end, Xue Yue moved to a small bungalow of only a few square meters and spent the last time of his life.

On May 3, 1998, the 103-year-old man passed away and returned to the earth.

After Xue Yue's death, when his family went to the small bungalow to sort out the relics, they found that Xue Yue's residence was extremely small, and there was only a table, a bed, a blue sky and white sun medal, and a freedom medal in the house. The later life of a generation of famous generals is so miserable that people are lamenting.

The days of fighting on the battlefield in the past, presumably Xue Yue would never forget it in his lifetime. It is a pity that a generation of famous generals, but in their later years, they were persecuted to this point, it was really a tiger falling in Pingyang and being bullied by dogs, and the dragon swimming shallow water was played by shrimp.

In the author's opinion, Xue Yue's later life is really unbearable. A general who made great contributions to the War of Resistance, without merit and hard work, he deserves to be respected and loved, but in his later years he was so bullied and lived in a house of only a few square meters, which is simply intolerable.

brief summary

As Xue Yue said, he truly became a national hero like Yue Fei and did not live up to his father's expectations. He fought bravely on the battlefield, putting his life and death on the line, vowing to drive the invaders out of China.

Xue Yue's military ability was praised by many people, and even his enemies could not help but admire him. Okamura Ninji once said

"It's easy to shake the mountain, it's difficult to shake General Xue"

This was enough to show Xue Yue's level of military strategy. It is a pity that the hero is late, persecuted, and cannot be quiet in his old age.

Xue Yue's contributions in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression were witnessed by the world, calling him the "God of War". In order to commemorate Xue Yue, the posterity passed on his story and established the "Boling Hall" for him.
