Tesla said that the cause of the failure may only be because the condensed ice blocked the forward air outlet near the windshield, resulting in an error in the sensor of the heat pump system, so it is recommended to use the preheating function to thaw or manually remove the ice from the air intake.

It is understood that in order to enhance the heating performance of the vehicle, Tesla is equipped with an electric heat pump system, compared with direct resistance heating, the heat pump heating efficiency is more efficient.

Moreover, the heat pump does not generate heat, but instead transports hot air to a specific area through the system. The compressor uses electricity to deliver refrigerant throughout the system and captures heat externally, which is then delivered to the interior of the vehicle.
