Transport Canada has received 16 complaints from owners about Tesla's Model 3 and Model Y heating and air conditioning systems, relating to the performance of two models of "HVAC systems in cold weather conditions."

It is understood that the reason why the heat pump fails is because the air inlet of tesla's heat pump will be frozen due to low temperature weather, resulting in abnormal sensor data and the entire system is closed.
According to Tesla's latest OTA update log, the version of the system allows the heat pump to start smoothly at a lower temperature, and users can turn on the heating function of the vehicle through the mobile app 30-60 minutes before departure to warm up.
But this update also leaves hidden dangers: if the temperature is below -15 ° C, the heat pump heating system may still fail, so Tesla recommends that the owner park the car in a warm place as much as possible to heat up the vehicle and solve this problem.
In fact, last year, Tesla Model 3 and Model Y had the problem of overheat pump failure, Tesla had issued a statement that it had solved the problem through OTA, but did not expect the incident to happen again.
Tesla's way to solve this problem is also an OTA upgrade, but in terms of results, there are still certain restrictions, and it is not known whether Tesla can completely solve the problem in the future.
