Shu Han should have had 7 tiger generals, but unfortunately 2 defected to Cao Cao and defended Cao Wei's side!

The Five Tiger Generals refer to the five generals who followed Liu Bei to establish the Shu Han during the Three Kingdoms period at the end of the Han Dynasty. They are Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Ma Chao, Huang Zhong, and Zhao Yun. When Chen Shou first composed the Chronicle of the Three Kingdoms, he juxtaposed the five people into one biography, but did not yet put forward the concept of the five tiger generals, and then after a long historical evolution, these five people were shaped into the five tiger generals, and were recorded to varying degrees in literary works, history books, and personal works, and were widely circulated in the form of art in the folk. Of course, in the main history, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Ma Chao, Huang Zhong, and Zhao Yun, the five famous generals, also made great achievements for the establishment of the Shu Han.

However, for Liu Bei, in the last years of the Eastern Han Dynasty, he missed two famous generals, that is, if these two famous generals could always follow Liu Bei, then Shu Han was not a five tiger general, but a seven tiger general. For these two famous generals, they all defected to Cao Cao in the end and defended Cao Cao's side. So, the question is, who are these two famous generals that Liu Bei missed?

1. Tian Yu

Tian Yu (171–252), courtesy name Guorang, was a native of Yongnu, Yuyang (present-day northeast of Wuqing District, Tianjin).

In the Chronicle of the Three Kingdoms, it is recorded that Tian Yu zi guo rang, Yuyang Yongnu people also. Liu Bei's Ben Gongsun Zhanye, Yu Shi was young, self-entrusted to bei, prepared very strange. Preparing for the history of Yuzhou' assassination, Yu asked for his mother and old man to return, and prepared to weep and say goodbye, saying: "Hate does not become a big thing with the king." ”

At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Liu Bei defected to Gongsun Zhan, and Tian Yu was still young at the time, and he was entrusted to Liu Bei, and Liu Bei valued him very much. After Liu Bei took charge of Yu Prefecture's assassination history, Tian Yu asked to return to his hometown on the grounds that his mother was old, and Liu Bei wept and bid him farewell, saying: "I only hate that I can't establish a great cause with Jun." Therefore, in the process of Liu Bei's pursuit of lu Zhongyuan, he and Tian Yu, a famous general, parted ways. It is worth noting that Zhao Yun, who was under the command of Gongsun Zhan at that time, chose to follow Liu Bei and eventually became one of the five tiger generals of the Shu Han Dynasty. Considering Tian Yu's ability, if he also continued to follow Liu Bei, then there would obviously be a place for Tian Yu in the camp of famous generals of Shu Han. Especially from Tian Yu's performance after that, he was very suitable for the town guard side, so the four major governors of Shu Han were obviously very suitable for Tian Yu to serve.

After parting ways with Liu Bei, Tian Yu later followed Gongsun Zhan, most likely because Liu Bei had already left Youzhou. In this regard, Gongsun Zhan ordered Tian Yu to be the commander of Shoudong Prefecture. After Gongsun Zhan was defeated and destroyed by Yuan Shao, Tian Yu persuaded Xian Yufu and others to surrender to Cao Cao. That is to say, in Tian Yu's view, Cao Cao had better prospects for coercing Tianzi to make the princes, or between Yuan Shao and Cao Cao, Tian Yu was more optimistic about Cao Cao than Yuan Shao, who was powerful on paper. After surrendering to Cao Cao, the latter summoned Tian Yu to be the military commander of the XiangFu, appointed Yingyin and Lang Lingling, and was promoted to Yiyang Taishou, and everywhere he went, he was well governed. In April of the twenty-third year of Jian'an (218), the Northern Wuhuan Wuhuan (Neng) ministers rebelled, and Cao Zhang, the Marquis of Yanling, conquered Dai Commandery, with Tian Yu as his counterpart. In this battle, Cao Cao's son Cao Zhang broke the Wuhuan army. Tian Yu then marched forward and defeated the Xianbei army that had come to support Wu Huan, and Ruby was able to flee to the north of Saibei and pacify Dai County, all of which Tian Yu planned. After emperor Cao Pi of Wei ascended the throne, the nomadic peoples in the north of the Wei state were relatively strong and often attacked the borders of Cao Wei. The imperial court then appointed Tian Yu as the lieutenant of Zhijie and The Guardian Karasuma, and the commander of the Zhaozhao and Xie Jun as the Lieutenants of the Guardian Xianbei.

In June of the second year of the Qinglong Dynasty (234), Sun Quan claimed to command an army of 100,000 and attacked the new city of Hefei. After the general Zhengdong heard the news, he prepared to lead his troops to the rescue. In this regard, Tian Yu believes that Sun Quan is bluffing, so he does not recommend reinforcements. Emperor Wei agreed. The enemy had to retreat. Later, the Eastern Wu army came to harass again, Tian Yu went to resist, and the enemy soldiers immediately retreated. Many sergeants exclaimed late at night: "The enemy is coming again!" Tian Yu did not move, and ordered the crowd to "execute those who dare to act." After that, there were no enemy soldiers. In the early years of Cao Wei Zhengshi (240-249), Tian Yu was promoted to the position of envoy to protect the Xiongnu Zhonglang General, and the general Zhenwei was added to the general, leading and taking the state of Shi. The prefecture under Tian Yu's jurisdiction was quiet and peaceful, and the people all returned to the government. In the fourth year of Jiaping (252), Tian Yu died at the age of eighty-two. His son Tian Pengzu succeeded him to the title.

Second, the trick

On the other hand, as far as the pull is concerned, he is also a famous general that Liu Bei missed, and like Tian Yu, after the lead was returned to Cao Cao, he also defended the side for a long time.

In the "Sun Chu Zhao Zhao Stele", it is recorded that Jun and Liu Bei Shao Chang He Shuo, the hero of the same contract, are the friends of the neck. Because of the fear of being taboo, every time he decides to lose, he cares about Ji Meng.

When he was more than ten years old, he was a student of Leyin in the same county, and when he was a teenager, he was in contract with Liu Bei hero and became a friend of the neck. During the Zhongping period, Le Yin was the cheri general He Miao Changshi, and the lead was still followed until the completion of the study. Although he and Liu Bei formed a deep friendship very early, they did not follow Liu Bei. At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, He was engaged by Yuan Shao, the pastor of Jizhou, and also led the Karasuma Raid. Later, Yuan Shao's close subjects broke the law and led the move to cut first and then play, and Yuan Shao admired his decisiveness and did not pursue the matter. After Yuan Shao's death, he followed Yuan Shao's son Yuan Shang. In the ninth year of Jian'an (204), Cao Cao led an army to besiege Yecheng, and Yuan Shang sent a leading recruit to supervise the military food. Unable to return to Yuan Shang because the road was blocked, he turned to Cao Cao and was dismissed as engaged.

In the first month of the tenth year of Jian'an (205), Cao Cao attacked Yuan Tan at Nanpi, and Ren Zhaozhao was recruited as a military strategist and accompanied him to conquer Karasuma. When he arrived at Yanagi Castle, he was appointed as a lieutenant of Karasuma. For the official position of lieutenant of Karasuma, it began in the Western Han Dynasty. During the reign of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, Huo went ill to break through the Xiongnu left land, and moved the Wuhuan people to Shanggu, Yuyang, Youbeiping, Liaodong and other counties outside. He placed the Lieutenant of Wuhuan, embraced the festival, and ranked two thousand stones, so as to protect the Karasuma inside, and to support the festival to supervise it, so that he could not contact the Xiongnu.

In the first year of the Huang Dynasty (220), Cao Cao died, and the Wei Emperor Cao Pi took the throne. On this basis, Cao Pibai led the lieutenant to guard Xianbei and garrison Changping. At that time, most of the border residents were scattered in the mountain valleys, and there were thousands of people who fled into the Xianbei tribe. He issued a notice persuading people to return to their homes, prompting Cao Wei's borders to gradually become peaceful. In the sixth year of the Huang Dynasty (225), Cao Pi planned to attack Sun Wu and summoned him to return the favor. When the draft arrived, the military horses had retreated. Worship the right lieutenant general, out of the Wild Goose Gate Taishou. For Yanmen County, it was also an important border town of Cao Wei, that is, it was precisely because of the long-term town of northern Cao Wei that it did not have the opportunity to compete with the famous generals of Shu Han and Eastern Wu.

In the second year of Taihe (228), Tian Yu, a lieutenant of the Karasuma School, was besieged by Kebineng at the city of Mayi and asked for help. The whole army was ready to go, the army attacked Pingcheng, and the Xianbei army collapsed and fled. Rubyneng gathered cavalry again and came to The North of Pingzhou. As a result, a secret marching raid was led, and his army was defeated. For the two famous generals who Liu Bei missed, Tian Yu, Chen Shou, the author of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, once commented: "Tian Yu is innocent and has a clear rule. The pull is heroic and the prestige is remarkable. And Yu position stopped small states, recruited finally county guards, not exhausted also. Therefore, in the talented Cao Wei camp, Zhao Zhao and Tian Yu did not get a higher official position. And if they have been following Liu Bei, they will not only be on a par with the Five Tiger Generals of the Shu Han Dynasty, but also hope to gain a bigger stage.
