Hello everyone, it's me again! Today I would like to introduce to you the living conditions of my Ancestors in China during the period of the Three Emperors and Five Emperors of Ancient China. This article tells the records of the Yellow Emperor, Emperor Huan, Emperor Zhao, Yao, and Shun, the five kings of the Chinese ancestors known as the Five Emperors.

1. Yellow Emperor

The Yellow Emperor was a descendant of the Shaodian clan, surnamed Gongsun and named Xuanyuan. Born with a divine side, he can talk at a very young age, think quickly when he is young, grow up Dun Min, and be intelligent when he becomes an adult.

The Yellow Emperor

At that time, the Shennong clan was weakened, its dominance declined, the princes were at war, and the people suffered. Xuanyuan cultivated virtue, reorganized the military, and crusaded against disobedient princes. One of them, Xuan You, was very cruel, not only disobedient, but no one could beat him, so the Yellow Emperor recruited the armies of the princes to capture and kill Xuan You at the Battle of Zhuolu.

Emperor Yan wanted to fight the princes everywhere, and the princes who wanted to be beaten all went to the Yellow Emperor. The Yellow Emperor promoted virtue, straightened out the army, reconciled the five elements, planted five grains, pacified the people, measured the land, trained soldiers as fierce as bears and cats and tigers, and fought with Emperor Yan three times in the Battle of Hanquan and defeated Emperor Yan.

The princes honored Xuanyuan as the Son of Heaven, replacing the Shennong clan and calling him the Yellow Emperor. Since then, when there was instability in the world, the Yellow Emperor would go to Pingding and open up the mountains and roads, and there was never a time for rest.

The Yellow Emperor went east to the sea and mounted Mount Tai; to the west to Kongtong and to Mount Jitou; to the south to the Yangtze River, to mount Xiongshan and Xiangshan; to the north to expel the meat porridge (xūn yù), an ancient northern people, later known as the Xiongnu after the Qin and Han dynasties), and came to Busan to check the deeds with the princes and build a city in Zhuolu.

The Yellow Emperor moved around and had no fixed residence. Official positions are named after "cloud" and are called "cloud masters". Set up a left and right prison to supervise the world. The world is stable, so there are many things to worship ghosts, mountains, and zen.

The Yellow Emperor calculated the calendar, appointed wise men to govern the people; conformed to the law of the four hours of heaven and earth, speculated on yin and yang, explained life and death, and discussed survival; sowed seeds according to seasons, domesticated birds, beasts, insects, measured the sun, moon, and stars, collected earth, stones, gold, and jade, labored the body and mind, and used all kinds of property sparingly. The Yellow Emperor has the auspicious omen of this attribute of earth, and the soil is earth yellow, so it is called the Yellow Emperor.

The Yellow Emperor married Changzu and gave birth to two sons, one named Xuan Hu and the other named Changyi. Chang Yi married Chang Yi and gave birth to Gao Yang. After the death of the Yellow Emperor, Gao Yang took the throne, which was Emperor Huan.

Emperor Gaoyang was the grandson of the Yellow Emperor.

Boom

He was deeply scheming and sensible; he let people cultivate and make good use of the land, and do things in accordance with the laws of nature.

Whether it is animals or plants, no matter how big or small the gods, wherever the sun and the moon can shine, there is no one who does not submit to him.

Emperor Huan gave birth to a son named Poor Cicada. After The Death of Emperor Huan, Xuan Huan's son Gao Xin took the throne, which was Emperor Zhao.

3. Emperor Zhao

Emperor Gaoxin was a great-grandson of the Yellow Emperor and a nephew of Emperor Huan.

Emperor

Gao Xin was born with a divine side and was able to say his name. He gave generous favors to all things, never thinking of himself. Smart to far-reaching, clear to discern. Conform to the righteousness of heaven and earth, and be able to know the people's livelihood. Dignified appearance, self-cultivation, benevolence and majesty, uphold justice, the whole world obeys.

Emperor Zhao took a woman of the Chen Feng clan as his wife and gave birth to Fang Xun, and married a woman of the jū zī clan and gave birth to Zhi.

After Emperor Zhao died, he took the throne. During his reign, He did not perform well, and his younger brother Fangxun took the throne, which was Di Yao.

4. Yao

Emperor Yao's name was Fang Xun. His benevolence was as great as the heavens, his wisdom was as high as the gods, and people followed him like the sun, admired him like a cloud. He wears a yellow crown and a deep black coat in a white horse-drawn red car. Under his rule, the nine tribes were harmonious and the world was stable.

Yao

Emperor Yao ordered the Xi clan and the He clan to honor the will of heaven, speculate on the calendar according to the laws of the operation of the sun, moon, and stars, and teach the people the seasons of production.

Arrange spring farming, on the day of the spring equinox, the day is as long as the night, set as mid-spring, when the people work, birds and beasts cross their tails; arrange summer production, on the summer solstice day, the longest day, set as midsummer, when the people live on a high place, birds and beasts lose their hair; arrange autumn harvest, on the autumn equinox day, the night is as long as the day, set as mid-autumn, when the people move to the flat land to live, birds and beasts regenerate new hair; arrange winter collection, on the winter solstice, the shortest day, set as midwinter, when the people enter the house to roast the fire, the birds and beasts grow full of fine hairs.

There are 366 days a year, and the leap month is set to adjust the four seasons.

Yao asked his subordinates, who can obey the mandate of heaven and take my throne?

Everyone recommended a folk bachelor named Yu Shun. Yao asked him what kind of person he was? SiYue replied to him that Yu Shun was the son of a blind man, his father was fierce, his stepmother was ignorant, and his brother was arrogant, but he could serve filial piety to make the family harmonious, and use virtue to govern the family business so that the family would not become evil.

Yao said, then I will try him.

Therefore, Yao married his two daughters to Yu Shun as a wife, and observed Yu Shun's virtue through Shun's performance in getting along with the second daughter. Shun told them to observe the etiquette of being a wife, and Yao was very satisfied with him, and granted him an official position, allowing him to perfect the five ethical indoctrinations of fatherhood, motherly kindness, brotherhood, brotherhood, and filial piety.

Yao thought that Shun did things very well, and three years passed, allowing Shun to ascend to the throne, and Shun thought that his virtue was not enough, and he was not sensitive.

On the first day of the first lunar month, Shun received Zen concessions at the Wenzu Temple.

5. Shun

In this year, Emperor Yao was old, so he ordered Shun to act as the son of heaven to investigate whether he obeyed the Mandate of Heaven.

Shun

According to the operation law of the Seven Stars of the Big Dipper, Shun rectified the seven political affairs of sacrifice, Ban Rui, East Tour, South Tour, West Tour, North Tour, and Guizhi Ancestral Temple.

Shun established the Twelve Continents and channeled the rivers; he replaced the five punishments of stabbing, cutting off the nose, cutting off the foot, castrating, and killing the head with exile, the whipping used for the government's administration, and the precept ruler for school education, and he could atone for his sins with gold. Mistakes are forgiven, and those who do not change their ways are punished.

Once, huān dōu recommended to Yao the co-worker to govern the country, and Yao said that the co-worker was not good, and later the co-worker did indulge in evil. Siyue recommended Cang (Yu's father) to cure the water, and Yao also thought that Cang was not good, but Siyue insisted on using Cang, and after trying it, Cang did not cure the water, and the people still had a difficult life. At that time, the Sanmiao tribe was in Jianghuai and Jingzhou, and it was definitely going to be cleaned up.

Therefore, Shun proposed to Yao that he would exile the Gonggong to Youling to change the customs of Northern Di; exile Him to Chongshan to merge with Nanman; migrate Sanmiao to Sanwei so that he could merge with Xirong; and exile Gong to Yushan to change the customs of Dongyi. These four murderers obeyed the sin, and the whole world surrendered to Shun.

Yao knew that his son Zhu Dan was not a good person, so he passed the throne to Shun. Yao said, "In the end, we will not benefit one person with the disease of the world." After Yao's death, Shun ceded the throne to Danju and took refuge south of the South River. As a result, the princes did not go to see Danzhu but to see Shun, those who fought lawsuits did not go to Danzhu but went to find Shun, and the people of the world did not sing praises to Danzhu but sang praises to Shun. Shun said that this was the "Mandate of Heaven", and then ascended to the throne of Tianzi in the Central Plains, which was Emperor Shun.

As we all know, Sima Qian was Shun's little fan, and in the Five Emperors' Book, a large amount of space was spent writing about Shun, and then there were some small stories of Shun. Because it is too long, I am ready to write the next story dedicated to Shun. If you like it, click on it! Thank you, audience!
