Tom Mainelli, vice president of IDC's Equipment and Consumer Research Group, said: "A challenging logistics environment, coupled with continued supply shortages, means that the PC market is likely to be larger than the 2021 figure. As we enter the first half of 2022, we expect supply to continue to be constrained, especially in the commercial sectors with the strongest demand. ”

Jitesh Ubrani, research manager for mobile and consumer device trackers at IDC, said: "2021 is indeed the year of the return of PCs. Consumer demand for personal computers in emerging markets and global business demand remained strong during the quarter, with supply being a key factor. Although consumer and educational needs have gradually decreased in some developed markets, we still believe that the overall PC market has returned to much higher levels than before the epidemic. ”
