Tracker company Tile introduces an anti-tracking feature that identifies if a tracker is nearby

IT House March 18 news, in response to the growing threat of tracking, Tile released anti-tracking for its Android and iOS apps. Called Scan and Security, users are able to find out if there is a Tile nearby or tile-enabled device.

Tile says it designed the feature in consultation with experts to support potential victims of domestic violence threats:

If someone is a victim of domestic violence and they are preparing to leave their partner, this feature allows them to choose the safest time and place to proactively check if they are being tracked.

IT House understands that the feature takes about 10 minutes and requires users to walk or move a distance from their original location in search of a tracker. When tile apps detect suspicious tiles or Tile-enabled devices, they issue a security prompt to the user. Tile corporations pledge to work with law enforcement through appropriately issued court orders to identify Tile owners suspected of wrongdoing.

Apple, one of Tile's competitors, has released an update for the AirTag tracker that allows iPhone users to spot unknown AirTags nearby. In addition, Apple will increase the amount of warning sound of airTags, and when there are other people's AirTags nearby, pop-up windows will be displayed to users.
