Recently, the research institute IDC released preliminary results for quarterly tracking of PC devices.
According to the report, global shipments of traditional PC devices (desktops, laptops and workstations) reached 92.7 million units in the fourth quarter of 2021, an increase of 1.0% year-on-year.
The total shipment of PC equipment in 2021 reached 348.8 million units, an increase of 14.8% over 2020. This is the highest level of shipments in the PC market since 2012.

As for the specific brand ranking, in terms of annual performance, Lenovo ranked first, an increase of 14.1% year-on-year, with a market share of 23.5%; HP ranked second, with a year-on-year increase of 9.3% and a market share of 21.2%; Dell ranked third, with a year-on-year increase of 17.9% and a market share of 17.0%.
At the same time, Apple ranked fourth, with a year-on-year increase of 22.1% and a market share of 8%; Acer ranked among the top five, an increase of 14% year-on-year, with a market share of 6.9%.
In the fourth quarter of 2021 alone, the same is Lenovo ranking first in the shipment list, although the year-on-year shipment decreased by 3.3%, but the market share is still 23.4%; HP second, shipments decreased by 3.2% year-on-year, the market accounted for 20.1%; Dell third, an increase of 8.9% year-on-year, the market accounted for 18.6%; Apple fourth, an increase of 8.6% year-on-year, the market share of 8.2%; Asus fifth, an increase of 12.5% year-on-year, market share of 6.6%.
Whether it is in the fourth quarter of 2021 or the whole year of 2021, Lenovo occupies the top spot in shipments. Among them, Apple's annual shipments increased the most year-on-year, and Asus had the largest year-on-year growth in the fourth quarter of 2021.
Canalys also recently released a report on global PC shipments.
Global shipments of desktop computers, notebooks and workstations increased 1% year-over-year to 92 million units, up from 91 million units in the year-ago quarter. This brings total shipments for the full year of 2021 to 341 million units, up 15% from last year and 27% from 2019, the highest since 2012.
In terms of specific vendor rankings, Lenovo, HP, Dell, Apple, and Acer ranked in the top five of the annual shipment list.
