HP will release a foldable 17-inch laptop later this year that will be equipped with a flexible LG OLED display, for which SK IE Technology, a subsidiary of SK Group, will supply a flexible polyimide (PI) film.

It is reported that the device will be equipped with a 4K flexible display, the screen size in the folded state is 11 inches, up to 17 inches after unfolding, and it is very likely to use the bendable OLED panel that LG showed at the CES Expo earlier this year.

According to South Korean media Thelec news, SK IE Technology is expected to produce about 10,000 films, while LG Display also plans to produce thousands or even as many as about 10,000 foldable OLED panels from the third quarter.
