Qingshi's famous "Phoenix Seeking Phoenix": the legendary love of the first of the four talented women of Bashu

Li Fangdi

In 122 BC, Zhang Qian reported to Emperor Wu of Han that he had accidentally discovered Shubu and Qiongzhu during Bactria (present-day Iran and Afghanistan). Asking the locals, they learned that it was imported from the poisoned country (present-day India) thousands of miles southeast. That is to say, in the distant Western Han Dynasty, the bamboo sticks made by Linqiao in Sichuan, as well as other Shudi commodities, had already crossed the mountains and mountains and sold well throughout South asia and Central Asia.

Linqiao, which is today the city of Qióng Lái in Sichuan Province. "The wind and moon are boundless, Chang'an looks three thousand miles north; the rivers and mountains are picturesque, and tianfu is the first state in the south." As the first city of Chengdu in the west of the Southern Silk Road, Shudi Tongdian and Tibet's key jin, since ancient times, it has the reputation of "wine", "tea town", "pottery capital" and "silk city". For more than 2,000 years, on the trade routes of Linqiao Ancient City, there has been an endless stream of business trips.

Qionglai ancestors with ingenuity to exploit the use of natural gas boiling salt, advanced iron tools, exquisite silk along the ancient body poison road exported abroad. The unprecedented prosperity of the economy has made Qionglai rich and famous, and the local rich merchant Zhuo Wangsun not only owns a salt factory and an iron factory, but also sets up a trade horse team, going east to Chengdu, Chang'an, West to Kangzang, and south to Yunnan and Burma. And his daughter, Zhuo Wenjun, the head of the four talented women of Bashu, is like the Great Literary Scholar Sima of the Western Han Dynasty, "Wenjun Danglang, like a polyester vessel", interpreting the legend of "FengQiu Phoenix" left by Qingshi.

Zhuo Wenjun was born in the Han Dynasty Linqiong rich merchant Zhuo Wangsun family, how rich is her family? History? The Chronicle of the Cargo Breeding Column says that Zhuo Wangsun "has the pleasure of hunting in the pond and is intended to be a human king". The "Huayang Guozhi" records that "Wang Sun goods are huge trillions". Zhuo's ancestors were zhao people, rich in smelting iron, and during the Warring States period, the zhao state was destroyed by the qin state and was forcibly moved to Shudi. Qionglai Mountain is extremely rich in iron ore, and Zhuo Shi had the foresight to request to move to Linqiao and recruit poor people to mine iron ore, smelt pig iron, and cast iron tools. Through the Southern Silk Road, it traded in Yunnan and Shu, and eventually became a huge wealth. Zhuo Wenjun is the second daughter of Zhuo Wangsun, she is good-looking, proficient in music, good at drums and piano. When he met Sima Xiangru, he was newly widowed at home, and Sima Xiangru just came to Qiong to join his friends. Sima Xiangru was a native of Chengdu, eager to learn since childhood, good at writing books and good at fencing and practicing the piano, because he admired the name Xiang Xiangru during the Warring States and changed his name to "Xiangru". Unfortunately, after the death of King Xue of Liang, who had ambitions in vain, Sima Xiangru could not even continue his life.

A rich family with thousands of dollars, a poor student, there will be no intersection. However, in the zhuo wangsun mansion, a song "Phoenix Seeking Phoenix", picked by the heart of the piano, was warm and deep, and touched the heart of Zhuo Wenjun behind the screen. Knowing that there was a huge disparity in identity, Wenjun immediately made a decision, ran at night, and returned to Chengdu together. Later, because the family was surrounded by disciples and had no way to get a job, the two returned to Linqiao together, sold cars and horses, and opened a liquor store. Although Zhuo Wenjun is a young woman in the boudoir, she also has the style of a father, pragmatic and diligent in her livelihood, generously selling liquor in the shop, and similarly working with the maid bartender. Even though Zhuo Wangsun refused to help them because he felt that he had no face, the liquor store still became increasingly popular, and "Wenjun Dangyuan, like a polyester vessel" was a beautiful talk for a while, and Shuzhong Shizi "did not admire the wind of similarity, and sold wine when he was a farmer".

Today, in wenjun well, located in the former residence of Wenjun in the ancient city of Linqiong, legend has it that the two set up a well for selling liquor for water. The well shape is unique, the wellhead is not more than three feet, the well bile is gradually wider, such as the bile bottle, the well wall is made of yellow mud and pebble paste, according to experts, it is an ancient well of the Han Dynasty. The existing gardens in the entire Wenjun hometown basically preserve the Qing Dynasty style, and the curved corridors are connected with the flower paths and the scenery is changed step by step, which is the best product of the integration of Jiangnan gardens and Western Sichuan gardens. In the park, there are ancient buildings such as Qintai, YangxuLou, Shui Xiang Xie, Dangyuan Pavilion, Lingyun Hall, Four Corner Pavilion and other ancient buildings, which are mirrored with the Moon Pond, Qu sill corridor, rockery, bamboo and wood, which are staggered, winding paths, exquisite and elegant. Walking in the middle, as if entering a time tunnel, Zhuo Wenjun and Sima Xiang sang like that ancient love, and truly felt the style of "the first love garden in ancient times".

Regarding the ending of Zhuo Wenjun's love, there is a legend that Yun, Sima Xiangru had the meaning of taking a concubine when he lived in Maoling in his later years. After Wenjun knew about it, he replied with a poem "White Head Yin": "Wen Jun has two meanings, so he comes to break each other" and "Willing to win the hearts of one person, the white head is not separated." After reading it, I dismissed the idea of taking a concubine, and the two reconciled as before. Although from the perspective of form and technique, "Bai Tou Yin" is more in line with the color of the Eastern Han Dynasty, people are still willing to record this story under the name of Zhuo Wenjun. Perhaps in people's minds, a marriage that begins well and ends well can only live up to this talented woman who is persistent in love and tenacious in temperament, and in order to pursue the love in her heart, she dares to risk the world's great determination.

In fact, even Zhuo Wangsun later recognized the love between the two and distributed a hundred servants to Zhuo Wenjun, millions of dollars, and clothes at the time of marriage. The two returned to Chengdu to buy a real estate and a farmhouse, and since then they have lived a prosperous life, and Sima Xiangru has been able to devote himself to learning. Perhaps it was King Zhuo who was moved by his daughter's courage, or perhaps the zhuo clan's long-sightedness made him finally accept the talented Sima Xiangru. Sima Xiangru was later summoned to Beijing by Emperor Wu of Han, and successively wrote famous Han fu articles such as "Shanglin Fu", "Adult Endowment", and "Book of Hunting", which were praised by Emperor Wu as "fluttering with the spirit of the clouds", and were famous all over the world.

Later, he was ordered to "hold the festival to make the southwest Yi", appease the ethnic areas in today's southwest Sichuan, northeast Yunnan, and northwest Guizhou, "set up a capital and more than ten counties", and put them into the territory of the Han Dynasty and stabilize the frontier. Lin qiong's father, led by Zhuo Wangsun, became Sima Xiangru's solid backing. People and property do not have to alarm ordinary Shu people, but only need to be handled by the gentry and other gentlemen. Such a great achievement, the perfect combination of wealth and love, can be regarded as a complete end to the story of Zhuo Wenjun and Sima Xiangxiang.
