On January 12, the National Immigration Administration held a press conference, and it is reported that since December 5, 2020, when the Ministry of Public Security deployed a special struggle to focus on crimes that obstruct national (border) border management, A total of more than 18,000 criminal cases of obstructing the management of national (border) borders have been detected nationwide, more than 48,000 criminal suspects have been arrested, and more than 47,000 illegal entry-exit personnel have been seized; 2,497 criminal gangs of smuggling have been destroyed, 797 transit dens of various kinds have been destroyed, 2,288 means of transportation (vessels) involved in the case have been seized, and 1,116 intermediary institutions and enterprises involved in the case have been investigated and punished.
According to the press conference, since the launch of the special struggle to concentrate on cracking down on crimes that hinder the management of national (border) borders, public security organs and immigration management agencies throughout the country have insisted on opening up the road, making precise efforts, and striking hard, and through strengthening deployment command, special crackdown, synthetic combat, pursuit and arrest, and comprehensive rectification, we have cracked down on organizing and transporting Chinese citizens' illegal entry and exit activities, severely punished the illegal entry and exit activities of foreign personnel, strictly prevented the risk of the epidemic situation abroad through illegal entry personnel, and strictly dealt with key prominent problems. The special struggle to concentrate on cracking down on crimes that obstruct the management of national (border) borders has achieved outstanding results, illegal entry and exit activities on the southwest border have been effectively curbed, and the problem of illegal personnel at the border "eating on the side" has been effectively rectified.
At the press conference, the relevant person in charge of the National Immigration Administration announced 10 typical cases, such as the "1.24" case in Yunnan and the "11.18" case in Guangxi, which were detected during the special struggle. Of the more than 48,000 criminal suspects arrested, more than 20,000 have been arrested in accordance with the law, and more than 13,000 have been sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment in accordance with the law, of which 68 criminal leaders have been sentenced to more than 7 years of fixed-term imprisonment, which has effectively deterred the illegal and criminal activities of obstructing the management of the state (border) border.
The relevant person in charge of the National Immigration Administration said that in the next step, the National Immigration Administration will adhere to the overall concept of national security, continue to follow the work idea of cracking down on gangs, cutting off passages, beheading snakes, and destroying networks, maintain a high-pressure posture of cracking down hard, and continue to deepen and promote special crackdown actions by continuously strengthening the cracking of cases, continuing to strengthen the pursuit of fugitives, and continuing to strengthen the fight to promote governance, cracking down all kinds of illegal and criminal activities that hinder national (border) border management, resolutely safeguarding national political security and social stability, and fully serving the overall situation of epidemic prevention and control.
