The Eighth Route Army has marshals, the New Fourth Army also has marshals, why is there no marshal in the Northeast Anti-Japanese League?

As everyone knows, during the Period of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, there were three main units under the leadership of our Party: the Eighth Route Army, the New Fourth Army, and the Northeast Anti-Japanese Alliance.

However, when the title was awarded in 1955, both the Eighth Route Army and the New Fourth Army had marshals, nine of the Eighth Route Army and one of the New Fourth Army, but none of the Marshals of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition.

So, who should be the marshal on behalf of the Northeast War of Resistance?

When it comes to the leaders of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Alliance, everyone should know Yang Jingyu, Zhao Shangzhi, Wang Detai and others, but unfortunately, these three were all sacrificed in the War of Resistance, and only one person is still alive after the founding of the Country, that is, Zhou Baozhong.

The chairman once commented: "Zhou Baozhong wrote poems that can be sung and wept during the fourteen-year struggle to resist Japan and save the country in northeast China. ”

So, why didn't Zhou Baozhong become a marshal?

Born in 1902 in Dali, Yunnan Province, Zhou Baozhong was sent to the northeast after the September 18 Incident to form the Northeast Anti-Resistance League, becoming one of the important founders of the Northeast Anti-League.

One day in October 1932, Zhou Baozhong led an army to attack the county town of Ning'an, but the number of enemies was relatively large, and they had been holding on to it, and the soldiers could not attack the city for a while, at this time, Zhou Baozhong had a clever move and temporarily formed a death squad, and he himself rushed to the forefront, and finally led the death squad to rush into the city.

Unfortunately, Zhou Baozhong's calf was hit by the enemy's bullet and fell, but he immediately stood up again, suppressed the severe pain, and continued to charge with the warriors.

Encouraged by him, the morale of the soldiers was high, and the momentum was like a rainbow, frightening the enemy to throw away their swords and guns, and fled in a panic.

After the battle, several fighters carried Zhou Baozhong on their backs to treat their wounds, but because they dragged on for too long, the bullet had penetrated the leg bone and were in urgent need of surgery. However, the medical facilities in the battlefield were not enough, and some people advised him to go to the big hospital in the provincial city for surgery, but Zhou Baozhong refused, saying: "If you want to do surgery, just order it, you directly find someone to dig with a knife and take the forceps clip, I can bear it!" ”

Everyone couldn't do anything, and in the end, they used knives and pliers to take the bullet out of the leg bone. Zhou Baozhong endured severe pain, and the sweat on his head dripped down, but he did not cry out a word of pain from beginning to end.

Later, the story of Zhou Baozhong scraping bones and taking bullets spread in the barracks, and the soldiers were deeply moved after hearing it, and their admiration sprang up, and some people praised them with smooth words: "The real hero of scraping bones and taking bullets is better than Guan Yunchang in the past." ”

Since then, Zhou Baozhong became famous in the first world war, well-known in the northeast battlefield, the Japanese army rewarded him with 100,000 yuan, but could not catch it at all, and later raised the price, saying that as long as it can be called to cut off one or two meats on Zhou Baozhong's body, the reward is one or two gold!

How high is Zhou Baozhong's status in the Northeast Anti-Japanese League? In 1938, the Second Route Army of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Alliance was established, and Zhou Baozhong served as the commander-in-chief and political commissar. It is the famous Zhao Shangzhi. Moreover, the commander-in-chief of the First Route Army was Yang Jingyu. Therefore, if Zhou Baozhong participated in the awarding of the title, considering the importance of the Northeast War of Resistance, he could be awarded the marshal.

But unfortunately, Zhou Baozhong suffered from a serious illness at the beginning of the founding of the People's Republic of China because of overwork, and by the time he was awarded the title in 1955, he had already left the army, so he passed by the title.

Of course, the Central Military Commission will not forget Zhou Baozhong's revolutionary contributions, although there is no rank, but he was awarded three first-class medals, which is also a very important honor in our army.

On February 22, 1964, Zhou Baozhong died of illness at the age of 62.
