Zhou Baozhong is a native of Dali, Yunnan, born in 1902, in the early years of study in Yunnan Daowutang, during the Northern Expedition, he met the communist Lin Boqu, deeply influenced by Marxism, in July 1927, Zhou Baozhong officially joined the Communist Party of China, began a revolutionary life.
After the "918 Incident", the party organization arranged for Zhou Baozhong to go to the northeast and serve as the secretary of the Military Commission of the Manchurian Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, that is, Zhou Baozhong was one of the founders of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Alliance, who was in Harbin at that time and formed anti-Japanese guerrillas, allied forces, and so on.
At that time in the northeast, there were four more famous leaders of the Anti-Japanese League, namely Yang Jingyu, Zhao Shangzhi, Wang Detai, Zhou Baozhong, and Yang Jingyu's stories we all learned in school, and in 1940, when he ran out of food, he died heroically.
Zhao Shangzhi was wounded and killed in battle in 1942, and Wang Detai was killed in 1936.
Zhou Baozhong, as one of the founders and important leaders of the Anti-Japanese Resistance League, witnessed the complete victory of China's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and Zhou Baozhong was not without danger in his perennial conquests; in 1932, in the Three Dozen Ning'an War, Zhou Baozhong was injured in his left leg and lower limb, and in the absence of anesthesia, Zhou Baozhong took out the bullet with a hard brace.
In September 1934, while fighting in the town of Ping'an, Zhou Baozhong was hit by enemy guns, and his intestines were all shot out, and he stuffed his intestines back with his hands and continued to fight until the final victory.

In 1942, after the sacrifice of Zhao Shangzhi, Zhou Baozhong became the sole founder and leader of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Alliance, and after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the party organization decided to develop to the north and defend to the south, and the northeast became a place of contention between the Kuomintang and the Communists.
Zhou Baozhong assisted Chen Yun and others in Changchun, and in January 1946, the Northeast People's Autonomous Army was renamed the Northeast Democratic United Army, and Zhou Baozhong was appointed as the deputy commander-in-chief, and the commander-in-chief at that time was the famous Lin Zong.
During the Liberation War, Zhou Baozhong made immortal contributions to the liberation of the northeast, and after the founding of New China, Zhou Baozhong came to work in the local area, serving as vice chairman of Yunnan Province, and later as president of Yunnan University.
In 1955, the criteria for awarding titles were all based on the 1952 grade, when Zhou Baozhong was already working in the local area, he did not participate in the rating, and later because of his serious illness, he was ill for a long time, so when he was awarded the title in 1955, he did not participate, but in recognition of his merits, the party organization issued him three first-class medals.
