When it comes to Japan's "Unit 731", the world hates it with all its teeth. However, few people know that the "731" base was almost given a pot by a famous general of our army.
This famous general, named Liu Haitao, a native of Dong'a County, Shandong, also has information that he is a native of Yishui County, Shandong, in short, he is a good man in Shandong.
Liu Haitao was born into poverty, and when he was a teenager, he followed the villagers into the Kanto Region. Because of his good fighting, Liu Haitao was once arrested and imprisoned, and after he was released from prison, he united more than 20 brothers and went into the deep mountains and old forests, and started a business of robbing the rich and helping the poor. After just a few years, the team has grown to more than a hundred people.
After the September 18 Incident, Liu Haitao deeply hated the Japanese Kou for invading China and decided to go down to the mountains to resist Japan. At this time, Zhao Shangzhi, the leader of the Northeast Volunteer Army, heard about his deeds, took the initiative to find him, and told him a lot of revolutionary truths. Liu Haitao was very moved, and since then he has joined the revolutionary team with Zhao Shangzhi.
Later, the Hadong Detachment of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Army was reorganized into the Third Army of the Northeast People's Revolutionary Army, with Zhao Shangzhi as the commander and Liu Haitao as the commander of the first regiment.
In September 1934, Liu Haitao heard that the Japanese Kou had built a bacteriological weapons testing ground in Shuangcheng County, Harbin, that is, the "731" base, so he led the first regiment to attack this base. However, the "731" base was a key project of the Japanese Kou, and just when Liu Haitao's troops were about to take it out of the pot, the nearby Japanese Kou troops came. Liu Haitao had to retreat and rescue the 16 compatriots at the base.
It was these 16 compatriots who told Liu Haitao of the crime of "731", and then Liu Haitao made a report to the Comintern and announced it to the world.
In his report to the Comintern, Liu Haitao wrote:
Hundreds of houses were built with iron windows, and countless iron cages were built with iron bars in the houses, and prisoners were packed inside the iron cages. Outside, listening to the sound of the machine inside, people outside think that this is a new arsenal set up in Japan, but no one knows that it is actually a killing ground, because Japan is particularly secretive about this, not to mention the people, even local officials are not allowed to know, even ordinary Japanese people do not know.

The Japanese shaved the ears with a knife once a few days, and after scraping it, they looked very carefully; there was also a rubber tube, which the Japanese took in their hands, and told the prisoner to swallow it into his stomach, and swallowed the head of the rubber tube on the left and right of the heart. During this period, the Japanese made the rubber tube pump back and took out the white thing in the belly from the pipe, and they also looked at the white thing carefully. The blood sucked by the prisoners, the things scraped by the ears, and the things drawn from the stomach were taken by Japan.
The Japanese also gave the prisoners injections, they brought a lot of medicine needles, no matter the head, feet, body front and back, vicious is all at once, the injection is only a few minutes tongue talk is not good, uncomfortable, Japan said that his illness is not good, quickly pull out, do not know where this person is going later...
In 1938, Liu Haitao was sent to Yan'an by Zhao Shangzhi and met the chairman. The chairman also appreciated him very much, so he sent him to Shandong to help Luo Shuai create a situation. Before leaving, the chairman personally sent him off, which is rare.
In Shandong, Liu Haitao successively served as the commander of the sixth and ninth detachments of the Shandong Column of the Eighth Route Army, and was promoted to commander of the Luzhong Military Region in 1940. Liu Haitao's most famous battle was three dozen Mengyin, which defeated the sweeping plan of the Japanese puppet army in one fell swoop and made great contributions to the development of the Eighth Route Army in the Luzhong area.
The local people also wrote a special folk song:
In March, the one who came to the flowers was red,
Here comes the Commander Liu from the Mengshan,
Divine Magic Calculation Sai Zhuge Ge,
Hit that devil in the pit arch.
In November 1941, Liu Haitao was unfortunately arrested during the anti-sweeping campaign, along with his wife, Zhu Yugan, the minister of social affairs in Luzhong District, and others. The Japanese puppet army was supposed to send him to Jinan, but fearing Liu Haitao's prestige in the Luzhong area and fearing an accident on the road, they killed him locally at the age of 34.
When Luo Shuai heard about it, he was very distressed, and in a telegram to the central government, Liu Haitao's sacrifice was listed as one of the most serious losses in Shandong in 1941.
After the founding of New China, the local government relocated Liu Haitao's body to be buried in the Wansongshan Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery in Yinan County, and incense continues to be burned.
