Admiral Hong Xuezhi was a military general who was appointed in the Korean battlefield
Commander of the Volunteer Logistics Command. Since then, it has been inextricably linked to logistics.
Hong Xuezhi was transferred back to China in 1953 and went to the Military Academy for further study. After a semester, he was notified by the old chief Huang Kecheng to go to the logistics department as the first deputy minister.
For logistical work, Hong Xuezhi has the most say, after all, he has experienced a modern battlefield. The greatest difficulty of the Volunteer Army at that time was not combat, but logistical support. Ensuring the volunteers' ammunition, medical supplies, grain, and other aspects is much more complicated than fighting a war, and Hong Xuezhi is able to do it with ease. This experience is unprecedented in other generals with logistical backgrounds.
After serving as deputy director of the Logistics Department for more than two years, he succeeded Huang Kecheng as minister.
In the ministerial post until 1959, he was innocently implicated in the Lushan Conference, left the army, and went to work in Jilin.
In Jilin, he served
Director of the Agricultural Machinery Department, and later transferred to the Director of the Heavy Industry Department. In the special period, it was again impacted, interrupted work, and was sent to the farm for labor reform.
In 1974, he resumed his duties
Director of the Bureau of Petrochemical Industry.
In 1977, while working, he suddenly received a notice from Beijing and returned to Beijing from the locality. At this point, 17 years have passed.
In this year, the leading group of the General Logistics Department was adjusted, and Vice Minister Zhang Zhen hoped that he would return as minister, but the superior did not agree and made him the director of the National Defense Industry Office, responsible for weapons production. In 1980, he served as the director of the Logistics Department for the second time, and after retiring to the second line, he went to the CPPCC to perform his duties.
