Revolutionary martyr Yang Jingyu once had a poem: "If a country is not a country, how can a family survive"! More than eighty years ago, the war of aggression against China launched by Japan plunged the Chinese into deep trouble, and the country was in difficulty and the family was difficult. At this time of life and death, countless heroic sons and daughters of the Chinese nation have emerged, who have not feared sacrifice and thrown themselves into the revolution to resist the Japanese imperialist aggressors. Among them is a well-known hero - Xu Guangtian.
He was one of the founders of the railway guerrillas, who performed heroically during the War of Resistance Against Japan, took a firm revolutionary stand, vowed to coexist and die with the country, made outstanding military achievements, and was once rated as a class A combat hero. However, what makes people lament is that after the victory of the War of Resistance, he rebelled against the enemy and became a member of the Kuomintang and made enemies of the people's army.
Why did he turn his back on his original intentions, end up as a traitor, and finally accept the judgment of the people, end up alone, and end his supposedly glorious life in a dim way?
The anti-Japanese star on the shore of Weishan Lake
Weishan Lake is the largest freshwater lake in the north. It is rich in aquatic products, and during the Qing Dynasty, the four-nosed carp in the lake was a tribute to the Qianlong Emperor's imperial point. In addition, the mineral resources near Weishan Lake are also very rich. Geographically, it is a place where soldiers have been fighting since ancient times. People on the shores of Weishan Lake live an idyllic and calm life.
However, in 1938, due to Chiang Kai-shek's passive resistance to Japan, after the fall of the three northeastern provinces, north China also fell one after another. The iron hooves of the Japanese invaders set foot on this land, arousing the strong resistance of the local people, and the people's armed forces rose up.
Xu Guangtian was born in Zaozhuang, more than 60 kilometers away from Weishan Lake. Due to the coal production in Zaozhuang, China's earlier railway lines were laid here. Xu Guangtian and his three brothers often played by the side of the railway since childhood, and invisibly developed a special skill - to be able to pick up a train at full speed. It was this that came in handy when they later dealt with the Japanese.
After the Japanese army garrisoned Zaozhuang, it burned and plundered the local people, and did no evil. Xu Guangtian mobilized several like-minded young people with lofty ideals and spontaneously organized a guerrilla group. In order to get weapons, they picked up Japanese arms transport trains. In just over fifty days, more than twenty rifles and ammunition were obtained.
As a result, this team has initial weapons and equipment, which has greatly improved its combat effectiveness. The guerrillas were out of nowhere, their shots were agile, and they repeatedly attacked the Japanese army and traitors, bringing great restraint and blows to the enemy.
In 1940, the team led by Xu Guangtian gradually gained scale. At that time, the Eighth Route Army established an organization in Lunan and established the Lunan Railway Guerrilla Group, and Xu Guangtian led his subordinates to join the Eighth Route Army to accept the leadership of the organization. This team is constantly growing. Xu Guangtian's two older brothers and a younger brother also joined the team.
At that time, his superiors appointed Xu Guangtian as the squadron leader of the railway guerrilla gun brigade. Under his leadership, the guerrillas had sneaked up on the Japanese watch shop and obtained some guns and spot clocks. They then succeeded in assassinating the japanese leader Daisaku Takaoka and his guards.
Subsequently, when ambushing the Japanese transport train, he killed more than 50 enemy people in one fell swoop and captured all the ammunition on the train. The daimyo of the spear squadron made the Japanese fearful, and the story of Xu Guangtian's brothers bravely killing the enemy also spread in the army.
In 1942, due to the betrayal of traitors, Xu Guangtian's eldest brother Xu Guanglin was arrested in a reconnaissance operation, but he would rather die than reveal half a news to the enemy, and died soon after under the cruel torture of the enemy. In 1943, Xu Guangtian's other brother, Xu Guangsong, was unfortunately killed while covering the retreat of his comrades.
In 1944, Xu Guanglin's younger brother Xu Guangcai also lost his life at the age of twenty-five during an attack on a puppet army stronghold. The three brothers lost their precious lives in three years, so far, Xu Guangtian did not shrink back because of the sacrifice of the three brothers, the country hated the family, and his determination to fight the Japanese devils was further strengthened.
In 1945, the Japanese invading army unconditionally surrendered, the railway guerrillas made indelible contributions to the Lunan battlefield, and Xu Guangtian, as one of the founders of the railway guerrillas and the captain of the spear team, was rated as a Class A hero for his heroic performance on the battlefield and his achievements in battle. As an anti-Japanese hero, Xu Guangtian was praised by the local people, and the scenery was unique for a while.
Withered Hero Flower
However, to the surprise of everyone, Xu Guangtian, who did not succumb to the obscenity of Japanese imperialism, lost his way because of his personal heroism.
After Japan's surrender, our army established a railway administration bureau in Zaozhuang. The leading members of the guerrilla group who fought with Xu Guangtian all entered the administration and held certain positions. Xu Guangtian, on the other hand, was not appointed and remained the leader of the guerrilla spear brigade.
This made his heart very unbalanced, thinking that his family had sacrificed their lives in the revolution, and he had been injured many times, and he could be said to be full of loyalty, but as a result, he had not been promoted and reused by the organization, so he was dissatisfied and full of resentment. In fact, the organization did not ignore him, but wanted to focus on cultivating him, finding an opportunity for him to further study and entrust him with heavy responsibilities. But he ignored the good intentions of his superiors.
When the civil war broke out, under the recommendation of the traitors, Xu Guangtian finally did not stand his position and accepted the title of company commander of the Kuomintang secret service. Sadly, he didn't have a happy life when he became a company commander. As a hero of the Eighth Route Army's War of Resistance, on the one hand, he was wary of the Kuomintang, and on the other hand, if he really made a positive enemy of the Communist Party and the people, he would also deviate from the Party education he had received for many years. So after two months, he abandoned his post and went back to his hometown.
However, when Xu Guangtian chose the direction of the Kuomintang, he was doomed to a tragic end. After the end of the War of Liberation, he was arrested by the police and sentenced to a heavy sentence for treason against the enemy, but in view of his contributions to the War of Resistance Against Japan and the fact that he did not do anything to harm the party and the people during the period of rebellion against the enemy, he was finally sentenced to three years in prison.
What is lamentable is that when Xu Guangtian lived a difficult life in prison and had mixed feelings, his former comrades-in-arms had already enjoyed the fruits of victory in their respective posts and actively made their own contributions to the construction of the motherland. After his release from prison, Xu Guangtian died of depression in illness and poverty, and the flower of the former hero withered away.
Don't forget your original intention, you have to be consistent
From Xu Guangtian's body, we have received a lot of enlightenment. A person should not take his own selfish interests, disregard the overall situation, and take his own future and destiny as a joke. Don't abandon your ideals and goals, lose yourself on the way forward, and forget your original intention. The so-called do not forget the original intention, to always have to be.
