During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Japanese army was well-equipped and full of ammunition, and frontal combat was not the best policy, so the guerrillas came into being. There is a classic old song that I believe everyone has heard: "The sun in the west is about to set, the weishan lake is quiet, play my beloved earth pipa, sing the moving song..." The railway guerrillas are a flexible and changeable team, they are active in the rear of the enemy army, not only caused a powerful blow to the enemy, but also made a major contribution to the victory of the war.
In fact, the railway guerrillas were a small anti-Japanese armed force operating in the Lunan section of the Jinpu Railway and the Lin(Cheng) Zao (Zhuang) branch line, and there were only 11 people at the time of its creation, and Xu Guangtian was one of them. Xu Guangtian was born in a poor family, his ancestors have been farmers for generations, when he was very young, he felt that life is not easy, oppression and bullying are everywhere. Therefore, after the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Xu Guangtian, his brother and younger brother all joined the army, and they only wanted to fight for the country, whether they lived or died depended on Providence.
On March 18, 1938, the Japanese army invaded Zaozhuang, and then, while sending heavy troops to garrison Zaozhuang, they launched a large-scale sweep, posing a serious threat to the anti-Japanese soldiers and civilians in the mountainous areas. Therefore, in order to grasp the movement of the Japanese army, an anti-Japanese armed force specializing in intelligence was formed, which was the Zaozhuang Railway Team. In the early days of its establishment, the guerrillas had little weapons and equipment, and under the sweep of the Japanese army, Xu Guangtian and others could only destroy the railways built by the enemy and some military facilities along the line.
Under the leadership of Xu Guangtian, the railway guerrillas attacked everywhere, and he could always make breakthroughs in the weak points of the enemy army, and once they encountered large-scale searches and encirclements, they could also "break into pieces" at any time and hide. Later, the railway guerrillas gradually developed and grew, Xu Guangtian was appointed as the squadron leader of the long gun squadron, in addition to destroying the railway, he also participated in a series of battles such as night raids on foreign companies, blowing up bridges, flying cars to carry out machine guns, pulling out strongholds, and cutting off communications, and made great contributions to the victory of the War of Resistance.
In the summer of 1943, Xu Guangtian was named a Class A combat hero, and his words at the commendation meeting caused a round of warm applause. After more than 2 years of unremitting struggle, the Chinese War of Resistance was victorious, and more than 1,000 Japanese troops stationed in Zaozhuang also gave up resistance and handed over 8 heavy machine guns, more than 130 light machine guns and 2 mountain guns to the railway guerrillas. After that, the railway guerrilla group was "upgraded and transformed" and became the railway administration, and in order to retain the spear brigade, Xu Guangtian was still the captain of the squadron.
However, Xu Guangtian did not take into account the good intentions of the organization, and he believed that the reason why he was not assigned to work on the railway must be that someone must be "plotting" him behind his back, so he held his stomach. In addition, Xu Guangtian's younger brother died heroically in battle, his brother also fell seriously disabled, and the family was cut off from the source of livelihood, if he could not be "promoted", the consequences would be unimaginable. After thinking about it, Xu Guangtian finally embarked on a crooked road - to defect to the Kuomintang.
In fact, before Xu Guangtian decided to defect, the organization had already appointed him as the battalion commander of the special regiment of the Lunan Military Region, but he was perfect enough to pass by him. However, although Xu Guangtian became the commander of the secret service company in the enemy army, he did nothing bad out of loyalty to the motherland, and he resigned after only 2 months of false post. After the liberation of the Lunan region, Xu Guangtian was arrested by the police, sentenced to 2 years in prison, and eventually died of illness.
