The prototype of Liu Hong, the captain of "Railway Guerrilla", is the epitome of Hong Zhenhai, the first captain of the brigade, and Liu Jinshan, the second captain of the brigade. "Liu Hong" is taken from the surnames of the two captains.
In 1941, due to the betrayal of traitors, the guerrillas fell under siege by the Japanese army, and Hong Zhenhai was unfortunately killed in the breakthrough. At this time, the railway guerrillas suddenly lost their main backbone, and it was determined that a new brigade leader was imminent. The commissar decided to use the "bean selection" to elect a new captain. Liu Jinshan, who got the most beans, became the second captain of the railway guerrilla group.

Liu Jinshan was born in 1915 in Zaozhuang, Shandong Province, to a poor family, but unfortunately lost his parents at a young age, became an orphan, and tasted the suffering of the world from an early age. He joined the Lunan Regional Railway Guerrillas in 1940 and served as a correspondent for the branch. Under the cultivation and care of Hong Zhenhai, the founder of the railway guerrilla, he quickly grew into a core backbone with courage and courage.
After Liu Jinshan served as the commander of the brigade, he led the guerrillas to fight the Japanese army, kill the traitors, sabotage the enemy's railway traffic, cooperate with the main forces to fight, and cover the high-level leaders to cross the enemy's false blockade line... Left behind many touching stories that can be sung and wept. In particular, he single-handedly broke into the sand ditch three times, and the battle story of "fighting the fake and forcing the Sun" is even more admirable.
Shagou is in Lunan and is a station on Jinpu Road. Because of its special geographical location of xuzhou in the south, Lincheng in the north, and the Grand Canal in the west, it has always been a place where soldiers must fight.
At the end of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the railway guerrillas were incorporated into the 19th Brigade of the 7th Division of the New Fourth Army, and the brigade commander was General Lin Weixian.

On August 10, 1945, Japan sent a note to the Allies. Immediately afterward, General Manager Zhu issued an order asking the anti-Japanese armed forces in the liberated areas to send ultimatums to the Japanese and puppets in their vicinity, and to limit them to surrender all their arms to our combat troops within one day. If the Japanese or puppet armed forces refuse to surrender and surrender their weapons, they shall be resolutely eliminated.
On August 11, 1945, Chiang Kai-shek hurriedly issued three orders: first, to order Zhu De and Peng Dehuai, commander-in-chief and deputy commander-in-chief of the Eighteenth Army, to be stationed on the spot; second, to order his concubines to actively promote the surrender and make sure to relax a little; and third, to let the puppet army effectively maintain local order.
The Japanese troops along the central and southern section of the Jinpu Road received orders from Chiang Kai-shek and moved south one after another, preparing to surrender to Chiang Kai-shek after assembling in Xuzhou. When the railway guerrillas learned the news, they destroyed the railway from Lincheng to Shagou overnight, blew up the railway bridge, and forced more than 1,000 Japanese soldiers equipped with various weights to gather at Shagou Station.
The People's Liberation Army issued an ultimatum to the Japanese and the puppets, who refused to surrender to our army because they received chiang's orders. On August 17, the 19th Brigade was ordered to attack Shagou, and Brigadier Lin Weixian commanded his troops to launch a frontal attack on more than 300 puppet troops from the northeast corner. However, due to the strong fortifications of the puppet army, it is easy to defend and difficult to attack, and there are more than 1,000 Japanese troops behind it. The attack lasted overnight, with heavy casualties and a stalemate in the fighting. The head of the brigade headquarters was extremely anxious, thinking hard about countermeasures, and finally thought of Liu Jinshan.
As soon as Liu Jinshan arrived at the brigade headquarters, Brigadier Lin asked, "Do you have any relations among the Japanese troops in Shagou?" "There's an officer named Kuroki, and we're more familiar with it!" "You managed to go to Shagou and tell the Japanese army in person, to clarify the stakes, we only fight the puppet army, let them not reinforce!" Liu Jinshan took the order, dressed in a new military uniform, tied up his belt, and walked heroically toward Shagou Station.
Kuroki was originally the leader of the Japanese army stationed in Shagou, but after being replaced, he was demoted to Shagou Station, and his original position was replaced by his subordinate Takaoka. Kuroki has always been angry about this, providing intelligence for the guerrillas, and eventually using Liu Jinshan's hand to kill Takaoka. Therefore, he had some contacts with Liu Jinshan, drank wine together, and accepted our anti-Japanese propaganda. He was both familiar and in awe of the captain of the flying car.
The outskirts of Shagou Station were covered with Japanese fortifications, and in order to prevent being mistakenly shot by the Japanese army, Liu Jinshan walked forward with his bare hands and swagger, and as soon as he stepped into the fortifications, 7 or 8 shining bayonets approached his front and back hearts. "What's it for?" "Find Kuroki!" Liu Jinshan answered in fluent Japanese.
Hearing that kuroki was looking for him, the Japanese sentry searched to make sure he did not have a weapon with him, and then went inside to report it. More than 10 minutes later, the sentry escorted Liu Jinshan to the Japanese headquarters. Commander Yamada asked, "What are you looking for Kuroki for?" Liu Jinshan explained the reason and reported himself to his home. Yamada called kuroki to come up. Seeing Liu Jinshan, Yamada was first stunned, and then politely brewed him a cup of tea and signaled him to sit down and talk.
Liu Jinshan said: "You have declared unconditional surrender, we will not fight you, only the puppet army; fighting the puppet army is Chinese's own business, if you participate in it, we will have to eliminate you!" ”
Yamada listened to Liu Jinshan's words, and with a look of embarrassment on his face, he went inside to discuss with several officers. After a few minutes, Yamada replied, "We agree with your army's request that soldiers not be allowed to shoot, but you must talk about credit." ”
Liu Jinshan left Shagou and hurried back to the brigade headquarters to report on the situation, and then returned to the guerrilla garrison. Less than two hours later, Brigadier Lin called him to go: "Comrade Jinshan, we are going to launch an attack, and you will go to Shagou again and sit and monitor the actions of the Japanese army, so as not to cause trouble." "Everyone knows very well that this is an errand to pin his head to the waistband of his pants, and if our side attacks and injures the Japanese army, Liu Jinshan will become a hostage of the other side." Still, he gladly complied.
The Japanese agreed to let Liu Jinshan stay in Shagou and have dinner with Yamada and Kuroki in the evening. That night, guns were fired in unison, the battle was very fierce, and the Japanese army complied with the agreement and did not fire a single shot. At dawn, the gunfire stopped, and most of the more than 300 puppet troops were annihilated. Liu Jinshan was about to get up and say goodbye, when Yamada angrily came over and asked, "You don't talk about credit, why did you hurt my soldiers?" Then Liu Jinshan was not allowed to say anything, so he locked him up.
Liu Jinshan was thinking hard about a way out, when he saw a Japanese translator walking through the door in a panic, so he stopped him and asked him what happened? The translator said: "Dozens of Imperial Allied troops ran to the station box office..." Liu Jinshan listened, there was a way, why not use the excuse that our army was pursuing the puppet army and mistakenly injuring the Japanese army, and talk to Yamada? Therefore, he knew the translator and asked the translator to help find Kuroki, who probably wanted to leave a way back for himself, so he found Kuroki.
Captain Liu opened the door: "Why did you let the puppet army sneak into the station?" Our army pursued the puppet army, only to mistakenly wound your people! "Absolutely nothing!" Kuroki shook his head. "We might as well go to the station together to verify!" Liu Jinshan said. "Our army agreed to the three conditions proposed by the Japanese army and discussed with Yamada the specific matters of the surrender and disarmament of the Japanese army.
At 10 a.m. the next day, the surrender ceremony began. The square in front of Shagou Station was heavily guarded, and more than 1,000 Japanese troops were lined up in four columns, and the Japanese officers and soldiers looked very calm. A Japanese officer presented Brigadier Lin Weixian with a stack of ordnance books. The quartermaster department of the 19th Brigade received all the munitions according to the schedule.
This surrender is the first record of our army's surrender of a whole regiment of Japanese troops, and it is the largest and largest number of Japanese troops surrendered by our army in the anti-Japanese base areas behind enemy lines.
