The 2022 Song Pro DM-i opens a new journey for BYD.

On January 6, Zhu Chao, manager of the Shanghai region of bydir's Dynasty Sales Division, said that the penetration rate of new energy vehicles in Shanghai exceeded 40% last year, and even reached 50% in some months, which provided development opportunities for BYD.

The sales network is densely woven, allowing BYD, an outsider, to occupy the home field advantage in Shanghai. The scale of BYD's sales network in Shanghai has approached or even exceeded the single-brand network of local Shanghai car companies such as SAIC Volkswagen, SAIC-GM and SAIC Passenger Vehicle.

Shanghai sales exceeded 40,000

"At present, except for the newly listed Song Pro DM-i, which has a current car, the rest of the models need to queue for 3-4 months, and some models such as Han EV and a few customized models take 6 months." Zhu Chao said that the 2022 Song Pro DM-i was officially launched in Shanghai a week ago (December 30), and the new car is expected to become the "star" model for the Spring Festival delivery.

The newly launched Song Pro DM-i has a total of five models, priced from 134,800 to 159,800 yuan, and provides a quadruple listing gift. The new car is equipped with BYD's DM-i super hybrid system, which accelerates only 7.9 seconds per 100 kilometers, and the comprehensive fuel consumption under the state of power loss is only 4.4L/100km, and the maximum endurance is 1090 kilometers when fully charged.

With the high safety of the blade battery and the five advantages of the DM-i model "fast and quiet and smooth green", BYD DM-i models are difficult to find in Shanghai. The listing of the Song Pro DM-i will help reduce the delivery pressure of other models.

Weaving "Dream" Shanghai

The explosive growth of BYD's new energy passenger car series stems from a step ahead in technology research and development.

In fact, since 2018, domestic independent brand car companies have invested in the research and development of a new generation of PHEV power system, especially the research and development of hybrid special engines, hybrid gearboxes and high-density and high-efficiency motors. In this technology competition, bydir DM-i Long city, Geely and Chery's new generation OF DHT hybrid system was released nearly three quarters ahead of schedule, seizing the opportunity. With ultra-low fuel consumption, ultra-high endurance and ultra-high safety, DM-i models are sought after by the market.

Driven by the DM-i model, the cumulative sales of BYD's passenger car terminals in 2021 were 730093 units, an increase of 75.4% year-on-year. Among them, new energy passenger cars soared 236.4% year-on-year to 92823, breaking through the 90,000 mark for two consecutive months, once again breaking the record.

From Han with blade batteries in 2019 to the DM series equipped with blade batteries in 2021, and Dolphin on the e-platform 3.0, BYD's new energy vehicles have formed an incomparable scale advantage for competitive brands, which has further enhanced its product competitiveness.

From the perspective of market pattern, among the 100,000 class sedan products, it is expected that in the short term, IT will still be mainly dominated by BYD Qin DM-i. Between 25 yuan and 300,000 mains, Han EV occupies a relatively obvious advantage. In the 150,000-class SUV range, the Song DM-i twin combination composed of Song PLUS and Song Pro models has the advantage of suppression.

From the product planning of Great Wall, Geely and Chery, in 2022, models equipped with a new generation of DHT will be launched, and they are generally SUVs, and the expected entry price is generally 150,000. From this point of view, in the case of DM-i car is difficult to find, BYD launched Song Pro DM-i to ensure the market supply of the Spring Festival sales season, which has obvious pertinence. Moreover, the competitive advantage of the product is also more prominent. Taking Song Pro DM-i as an example, in terms of technology configuration, except for the minimum configuration of DiLink 3.0, the rest of the models are DiLink 4.0. In terms of L2+ ADAS, the entire series is equipped with DiPilot intelligent driver assistance system, including ACC adaptive cruise, predictive emergency braking system, TSR traffic sign recognition, holographic transparent imaging system, etc. Not only that, such as intelligent voice interaction, mobile phone vehicle interconnection, etc. are standard.

"Respect the past, look forward to the future." Zhu Chao said that at present, the biggest pressure on BYD is still production capacity, and in the process of waiting for delivery with consumers, BYD will further optimize and improve service quality.

According to incomplete statistics, by the end of 2021, BYD's planned production capacity of passenger cars will be 1.5 million units, and the actual usable production capacity will be 900,000 units. The plant is expected to have a production capacity of 1.1 million units in 2022, and an actual usable capacity of approximately 1.3 million units.
