Meanwhile, at a press conference, Sony once again exhibited its Vision-S sedan prototype. The Vision-S sedan is Sony's first concept electric vehicle to be unveiled at the pre-CES 2020 conference.

According to the data, the Vision-S sedan is built by Sony and many partners including Nvidia, Qualcomm, ZF, Bosch, BlackBerry, QNX, Mapai, Bentler, Magna and so on. The vehicle has 40 sensors built-in CMOS, TOF, etc., and their role is to detect people and objects inside and outside the car and provide advanced driving support.

Sony has said that through a large number of sensors, the perception ability of this concept car even exceeds the human eye. Under Sony's theory, the newly released Vision-SUV concept car has the same number of sensing devices, and the perception ability has also reached the level of "exceeding the human eye".

According to the latest news, Sony Vision-S's first concept car has now entered the road test phase. In the first half of 2020, the car was exposed for testing on European roads.

Kenichiro Yoshida said: "After showing Vision-S, we felt the excitement of the outside world, which really encouraged us to further consider how we can use creativity and technology to change people's travel experience."

After the release of the Vision-S sedan two years ago, Izumi Kawakami, the project director in charge of the Vision-S project, said that Sony would not become a car manufacturer, but a catalyst for the transformation of the car. Cars are moving in the direction of intelligence, and Sony hopes to showcase the company's contribution to automotive intelligence through the Vision-S project.

However, judging from Sony's current moves, the layout of this large comprehensive multinational company in the automotive field may be inseparable from automobile manufacturing.

It is understood that Sony will conduct 5G road tests on its electric vehicles in April. Kenichiro Yoshida said that we will equip vehicles with 5G technology, which can enable high-speed, large-capacity and low-latency connectivity between the cloud and the cloud.

The Sony head also introduced Sony's advantages in creating smart cars, saying that in terms of adaptability, our intelligent network technology allows us to develop a continuously upgraded smart car, which allows each user to get customized services. On the entertainment side, Sony expects to provide a car with advanced gaming and audio equipment to meet the entertainment needs of passengers, and the car is designed not to distract passengers.
