The VISION EQXX concept car explains Mercedes-Benz's vision for the future of electric vehicles. From start to finish, it took only 18 months for Mercedes-Benz to create the most energy-efficient model in the brand's history: its energy consumption per 100 km is less than 10 kWh, the range of a single charge is more than 1000 km, its futuristic shape is breathtaking, and from any point of view, the VISION EQXX concept is an advanced electric vehicle.
Thanks to the new electric drive system developed in-house, the VISION EQXX concept car realizes the efficient use of energy, and its lightweight and efficient electric drivetrain transmits up to 95% of the battery energy directly to the wheels.
Thanks to this, the VISION EQXX concept car has an amazing low energy consumption performance, its energy consumption per 100 kilometers is less than 10 kWh, and the single charging range after digital simulation of real road conditions exceeds 1000 km, covering more cruising range with less energy consumption.
The vision EQXX concept car features biodegradable pure plant silk for the door handles, two outstanding leather alternatives – made of cactus raw material and mycelium – and 100% bamboo fiber woven for the seats.
The concept car uses a lot of digital technology for the user interface and experience, mercedes-Benz engineers use an innovative information processing method called neuromorphic computing, effectively reducing energy consumption by several orders of magnitude, and increasing the wake-up speed of "Hello, Mercedes-Benz" to 5 to 10 times that of traditional voice control functions.
In addition, the VISION EQXX Concept is powered by the brand's first fully seamless 47.5-inch slim all-in-one screen, introducing a game engine and a fully optimized user interface. The R&D team has worked across borders to jointly develop the first 3D real-time navigation system that is compatible with this size of the screen, which can enlarge the satellite view to a height of 10 meters in the 3D city view.
At present, a number of functions applied in the concept car have been applied to the production car, and more advanced technology will be installed in the subsequent mass production Mercedes-Benz models.
