Today, when we revisit this real historical event, it is even more profound, and there are many stories after the cliff jump of "The Five Heroes of Wolf's Tooth Mountain".
In September 1941, the Japanese army mobilized 70,000 people to launch a major sweep against the anti-Japanese base areas in Jin-Cha-Ji, and the Wolf-Tooth Mountain area in Yi County became a key target of the enemy.
In August, the First Military Subdistrict of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region, under the arrangement of its superiors, continued to fight with the enemy, and on September 23, the Japanese army came to the Wolfa Mountain area, and they occupied the villages of Nanqi and Beiqi under the mountain.
Subsequently, the Japanese army integrated a team of 3500 people and continued to besiege the First Military Sub-district of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region.
According to the commander's intention, the troops wanted to leave a company to cover, and it was the 7th Company of the 2nd Battalion of the 1st Regiment that was selected, and when the large troops began to withdraw, Liu Fushan, the commander of the 7th Company, and Cai Zhanpeng, the instructor, led the troops to use the terrain of Langya Mountain to block the enemy.

After 5 hours of fierce fighting, they annihilated more than 90 enemies, and in the case of running out of ammunition, the five people did not want to be prisoners of the Japanese army, jumped off the cliff and martyred the country together, and they shouted the slogan of "Down with Japanese imperialism".

Five people jumped off the cliff together, two survived, they were deputy squad leader Ge Zhenlin and soldier Song Xueyi, on the cliff, the two were hung on the tree to survive, the local people rescued them, the next day, they returned to the team.
After the matter was reported, Zhu Liangcai, then acting director of the Political Department of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region, seized the opportunity to report the matter to Commander Nie Rongzhen and decided to order all the troops of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region to learn from the five heroes of Langya Mountain.

In 1944, due to his serious injuries, Song Xueyi could not continue the march, so he went to Beiguantou Village in YiXian County, Hebei Province, to serve as the chairman of the peasant association. In 1947, after Song Xueyi learned that his hometown had been liberated, he returned to his hometown with his wife.
Since then, Song Xueyi has made a living farming in his hometown, and he has successively served as the secretary of the village party branch and the member of the county party committee.
In 1959, the 10th anniversary celebration of the Republic, Song Xueyi was invited to Beijing as one of the "Five Heroes of Wolf's Tooth Mountain" to participate in the activities, Chairman Mao also invited him to his home for a meal, after which Song Xueyi returned to his hometown and continued to work with the masses, in 1971, Song Xueyi died of illness at the age of 53.
The other surviving Ge Zhenlin has been following the troops in the southern expedition to the north.
He participated in the battles of Tianjin, Zhangjiakou, and Taiyuan, participated in the Jiangxi Bandit War, and later went to Korea to participate in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.
In 1981, he left his post to recuperate according to the treatment of deputy division, and in 1983, his superiors promoted him to a retired cadre with full division level treatment.
In his later years, Ge Zhenlin spent most of his energy on caring for the growth of teenagers, he once went to many schools in Hengyang to give speeches, every time he spoke to the students, Ge Zhenlin was full of gratitude, he told the students: cherish the current good conditions, study well, how difficult it is for the motherland to fight!
In 2005, Ge Zhenlin died of illness at the age of 88.

At Ge Lao's memorial service, there was a name left on the curtain that attracted much attention, her name was Nie Li, and her father was the commander of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and later the founding marshal Nie Rongzhen.
