Ge Zhenlin was born in 1917 to a modest family in Xiyu Village, Dangcheng Township, Quyang County, Hebei Province, and had hoped to live a few years of peace. In 1931, when the Japanese invaded and occupied the northeast, Ge Zhenlin saw the fall of the mountains and rivers, and the lives were ruined, and he was filled with righteous indignation. In 1937, at the age of 20, Ge Zhenlin joined the army and joined the Communist Party of China in 1940.
Mountains and rivers fall
On September 24, 1941, the 3,500-strong regiment of the Japanese puppet army surrounded the Wolf-Tooth Mountain area, and commander Yang Chengwu took advantage of the gap in the encirclement to let the large troops quietly withdraw at night. In order to buy time for the withdrawal of large troops and the transfer of local civilians, the superiors decided to send a company to drag the enemy. A regiment of seven companies that could fight a hard battle and was brave and tenacious was left behind.
In the early morning of September 25, more than 500 Japanese puppet troops launched an attack on Wolf's Tooth Mountain under the cover of aircraft and artillery, and the soldiers of the Seventh Company relied on the favorable terrain and used mobile and flexible tactics to shoot one shot to change places, creating the illusion that the Eighth Route Army was everywhere. After several hours of fighting, the seven companies suffered heavy casualties, the positions were full of wounded people, and even the company commander was seriously wounded. They were squad leader Ma Baoyu, squad deputy Ge Zhenlin, warrior Hu Delin, warrior Hu Fucai and Song Xueyi. They took the machine guns and replenished ammunition left behind by the company, and constantly used the favorable terrain to shoot hate bullets at the devils. Ge Yongxian, who stole his father's medal, graduated from middle school in 1974 and was sent to a zhiqing point in Hengyang County to work, and after 3 years of implementing the policy to return to the city, he hoped that his father would use his identity to help him find a relationship. The old hero said, I am a party member, and I must not open my mouth to the organization for personal matters. The child was not satisfied with the assigned diesel engine mill grinder work, and without any formalities, he left the factory to do business, became infected with bad habits, and later fell into disgrace, and even stole his father's medal to exchange money.
Although he loved this child, Ge Zhenlin decided to kill his relatives in righteousness, and he told the comrades of the Public Security Bureau that he was my son and an ordinary citizen, so he would harm himself and others, and it would endanger society even more.
In his later years, Most of Ge Zhenlin's energy was devoted to caring for the healthy growth of adolescents. He has personally served as an out-of-school counselor for more than 20 primary schools in Hengyang city and nearly 200 primary and secondary schools across the country. He has been invited to visit more than a dozen provinces and cities across the country, and his footprints have spread all over the troops, organs, schools, factories and mines, and of course, prisons, re-education through labor sites, and other places, and has made more than 400 reports. Thus inspiring and educating tens of thousands of cadres and the masses and people undergoing reform.
Ge Zhenlin's eldest son, Ge Changsheng, recalled that his father never regarded himself as a hero, and even if his deeds were on the "People's Daily", entered the language textbook, and was also made into a movie to be screened nationwide, he never mentioned the matter of Wolf's Tooth Mountain. Even if the movie "Five Heroes of Wolf Tooth Mountain" was released, even the children in the family did not expect that the simple father would have anything to do with it.
