It is said that this place was once related to Liu Zhao, the son of Emperor Wu of Han. However, those familiar with modern history may be more familiar with the magnificent scene that took place here, where the five heroes of Wolf's Tooth Mountain stopped the Japanese and jumped off the cliff.
The names of the five heroes of Wolf's Tooth Mountain who created legends with blood and life were Ma Baoyu, Song Xueyi, Ge Zhenlin, Hu Delin, and Hu Fucai. In the face of the Japanese Kou's tight steps, they did not retreat half a step, resolutely blocked the enemy, and when the bullets were finished, they took local materials and took stones as weapons. Standing on the edge of the cliff, they were not afraid, and in the face of the enemy's abduction, the five chose to jump into the abyss.
In 1941, the Japanese Kou intensified their sweeping of our party's base areas, created a "three-light" policy everywhere, and attempted to encroach on and disintegrate our party's base areas step by step, and encircled the sub-district where Commander Yang Chengwu, who was in the Jin-Cha-Ji base area at that time. A total of more than 3,000 Japanese puppet troops were dispatched in an attempt to eliminate the Eighth Route Army near The Wolfa Mountain in the Jin-Cha-Ji base area. In the face of the menacing enemy, Commander Yang immediately ordered the transfer of the masses and the transfer of troops to avoid the enemy's sharp edge. At the same time, in order to create an illusion for the enemy, five people led by the squad leader Ma Baoyu stayed behind to serve as cover and interfere with the enemy's pursuit. With tenacious will and sufficient preparation, the five men took advantage of the local complex terrain to effectively counterattack, repeatedly repelled the enemy's attack, and successfully killed more than ninety enemy people.
Because of the excellent combat of the five people, it successfully interfered with the judgment of the enemy. Believing that this force must be the main force of the Eighth Route Army, he constantly concentrated his forces to besiege Ma Baoyu and others. In the face of the enemy's more ferocious attack, Ma Baoyu and the others decided at the moment to lead the enemy to the summit of Wolf's Tooth Mountain, which was farther away from the main force. Ma Baoyu and the others, who were fighting and retreating, finally ran out of bullets, and could only use the stones around them to fight back, but it was difficult to fight back with two fists and four hands, and they were outnumbered, facing the enemy who was already in front of them, they finally chose the most heroic way and jumped down the abyss of Wolf's Tooth Mountain.
After the five people jumped off the cliff, the squad leaders Ma Baoyu, Hu Delin, and Hu Fucai unfortunately died, perhaps God deliberately made this legendary deed more complete, Ge Zhenlin and Song Xueyi hung on the branches and survived, and after being rescued, Ge Zhenlin and Song Xueyi were later searched and rescued by the troops. When the governor of the Jin-Cha-Ji base area learned of the deeds of the five people, he immediately sent a telegram to commend the three martyrs who had sacrificed their lives as honorary titles of "model soldiers," awarded the two surviving medals of "bravery and tenacity," and posthumously recognized the martyred Hu Delin and Hu Fucai as communists.
After the founding of New China, in order to carry forward the spirit of the Five Heroes of Wolf-Tooth Mountain, the local government rebuilt the "Five Heroes of Wolf-Tooth Mountain Memorial Tower" in the local area. The surviving Song Xueyi transferred to local work after retiring from the army and did not die until 71. Ge Zhenlin, on the other hand, served as deputy director of the logistics department of a military region sub-district, retired in 1981, enjoyed the treatment of a retired cadre at the division level, and died in 2005.
Today's Wolf's Tooth Mountain has long been a demonstration base for patriotic education, with a total of tens of millions of tourists received every year, and the Qingming Festival has organs at all levels to carry out commemorative activities to publicize patriotic ideas, let the red history echo in the ears, and inspire generations of young people.
