The five detachments of the Eighth Route Army, the political commissar became a lieutenant general, and the chief of staff became a major general, but the commander was shot after the founding of the country

After the battle of Pingxingguan, the main force of the 115th Division went south to the southeast of Jin, and Nie Rongzhen, deputy division commander, led more than 3,000 people to the Area of Wutai Mountain to create an anti-Japanese base area behind the enemy lines, and after more than two months of fighting, recovered a lot of lost land from the Japanese army, and established the Eighth Route Army Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region, under the jurisdiction of four military sub-districts, with a total strength of more than 15,000 troops. Among the four military sub-districts, Yang Chengwu's First Military Sub-district was the most powerful, with a strength of more than 7,000 troops.

After the establishment of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region, it repeatedly thwarted the siege of the Japanese army, many enthusiastic young people came to join the army, and some anti-Japanese armed forces also came to defect. In just over a year, the strength of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region has more than doubled, and the fastest expansion of the troops is still Yang Chengwu's First Military Sub-district. At that time, the total strength of the First Military Sub-district had exceeded 10,000 people, and the number of three regiments was insufficient. So in January 1939, the first division became the 5th detachment, which had a total strength of more than 5,000 people. So who were the commanders, commissars and chiefs of staff of the 5 detachments at that time?

5 detachments of political commissar Wang Daobang. Wang Daobang was a newcomer to Yongxin, Jiangxi, who did not enter a private school until the age of 12 due to his family's poverty. After less than three years of study, the family could not afford to pay the tuition fees, and Wang Daobang was forced to drop out of school. In order to make a living, 15-year-old Wang Daobang apprenticed a bricklayer and suffered a lot. In 1930, the 19-year-old Wang Daobang joined the Red Army and followed the troops in the southern conquest of the northern war, making many military achievements. After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Wang Daobang joined the Independent Regiment of the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army.

After the establishment of the first sub-district of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region, Wang Daobang served as the political commissar of the first regiment and participated in the battles of Dalonghua, Yansuya and Loess Ridge with the troops. In January 1939, he was transferred to the political commissar of the 5th Detachment. Later, he also served as deputy director of the political department of a sub-district. After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Wang Daobang participated in the War of Liberation and the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, serving as the commander of the 65th Army of the Volunteer Army, and was awarded the rank of lieutenant general in 1955. In 1959, General Wang Daobang died of illness at the age of 48.

Song Xuefei, chief of staff of the 5 detachments. Song Xuefei is a native of YiXian County, Hebei Province, with a family of savings and a good education from an early age. Later, he threw himself into the Northeast Lecture Hall to study, and after graduation, he served in the Northeast Army as a battalion commander. After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Song Xuefei joined the Eighth Route Army, and two years later was promoted to chief of staff of 5 detachments, and later served as the chief of staff of the first division. During the War of Liberation and the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, Song Xuefei worked as a staff officer, serving as chief of staff of the 68th Army of the Volunteer Army, and was awarded the rank of colonel in 1955 and promoted to major general in 1961.

It is said that both the political commissar and the chief of staff have become generals, and the achievements of the commander of the detachment will not be low. But surprisingly, the commander of the 5 detachments was shot after the founding of the country. When the 5 detachments were established, the commander of the detachment was Zhao Yukun, who had no culture, and made a living by killing pigs and selling meat, and later went into the mountains to become a bandit, specializing in the business of robbing the family house. After the Japanese invaded Hebei, Zhao Yukun pulled up a team in the name of anti-Japanese resistance and appointed himself commander of the Seventh Route Army of the Anti-Japanese Army in North China.

Because Zhao Yukun fought under the banner of anti-Japanese resistance, many enthusiastic young people who did not know his details came to join the army, and soon Zhao Yukun had more than 6,000 people under him. After the procession was pulled up, Zhao Yukun not only did not resist japan, but also forcibly asked for money and goods from each household, and the villagers were very dissatisfied with this. Soon after, Yang Chengwu led his troops to the area around Yi County, and in just two months he recovered seven county seats. As a result, those who sincerely resisted Japan in Zhao Yukun's ranks left the team to join the Eighth Route Army.

Seeing that the team was about to disperse, Zhao Yukun had no choice but to join the Eighth Route Army with the rest of the people. Soon after, Zhao Yukun's team was reorganized into the 5th Detachment of the First Division of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region of the Eighth Route Army, and he served as commander. If Zhao Yukun can continue to work down-to-earth, there will inevitably be some achievements in the future. However, he could not bear the suffering of the Eighth Route Army, and soon after he defected with a few of his cronies and surrendered to the Japanese Kou as a shameful traitor. In 1941, the Japanese Kou concentrated their forces to launch a siege on the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region, and Zhao Yukun personally led the way to the devils and killed the five heroes of The Wolf-Tooth Mountain. After the founding of New China, after being reported by the masses, Zhao Yukun was arrested and shot after the public trial.
