At that time, Zhao Yukun, as the commander of the third detachment of the First Military Subdistrict of the Jixi Sub-district of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region, held a large number of secrets of our army, so he was very familiar with some of the secret deployment of our army in the local area.
After Zhao Yukun surrendered to the enemy, in order to curry favor with the Japanese army in exchange for greater benefits, at dawn on September 24, 1940, under his personal leadership, the Japanese devils began to attack the base area of our army on Langya Mountain.
The reason why he chose Wolf's Tooth Mountain was because he knew that Wolf's Tooth Mountain was the "Old Third Regiment" garrison brought by Yang Chengwu and was one of the cores of the Jincha Wing Base Area.
At this time, Zhao Yukun, as the head of the garrison regiment, joined in the encirclement and suppression of the Eighth Route Army, and this time, more than 3,500 Japanese puppet troops participated in the operation, and they surrounded the Wolf's Tooth Mountain from all sides.
In short, Zhao Yukun was supported by the Japanese army and wanted to take this opportunity to shake his former comrades-in-arms and fathers and fellow countrymen.
At that time, the encirclement circle included the main force of our army, the party and government organs, and the local people. The total number of personnel in the three parties is more than 20,000, but because they are all administrative units, only a hundred or so real teams can fight.
Zhao Yukun knew this very well, so at this time, he was satisfied, and felt that after this battle, he should not be the leader of the garrison regiment, and he should at least be able to mix with a commander.
Under the extremely severe situation, Commander Yang Chengwu, who had been in the battlefield for a long time, felt that he could not sit still, so after thinking about it for a long time, he decided to adopt the method of "encircling Wei and saving Zhao" to break through.
He first demanded that the troops in the southwest launch a fierce fire on the enemy and carry out a feint attack, with the aim of mobilizing the enemy to support the area and exposing his weaknesses.
The Japanese army was really deceived, afraid that the local troops could not block the breakthrough of the Eighth Route Army, so they quickly dispatched troops from the other direction, and the encircling troops around Shaling came to reinforce, so that the troops in the Shaling area were insufficiently defended, and a gap of more than 20 miles wide was leaked. The main force of the Eighth Route Army seized this rare opportunity and rushed out of the gap on the night of September 24 and ran out of the encirclement.
In order to prevent the enemy from biting our main force to death, the troops left the 7th Company as a task to cover the retreat of the main force. In the early morning of the 25th, the Japanese army, which had not yet found the withdrawal of the main force, began to shrink the encirclement and launched an attack on Wolf's Tooth Mountain.
Under the personal leadership of Zhao Yukun, more than hundreds of Japanese puppet troops, under the cover of the aircraft cannons of the Japanese devils, formally launched an attack on the frontal position of Wolf's Tooth Mountain.
Although the soldiers of the Seventh Company occupied favorable terrain at The Wolf's Tooth Mountain, they lacked ammunition and medicine, let alone support, and they fought one less, and by noon, the soldiers of the Seventh Company had already suffered casualties, and the company commander Liu Fushan was also seriously wounded and could not command, and most of the other fighters died heroically.
At this time, including the Japanese army, they all knew that they had been calculated, Zhao Yukun watched the ducks in his hand fly, and the opportunity for him to give the Japanese army to flatter was gone, and he was even more hateful to the Eighth Route Army, so he asked the Japanese army to increase the intensity of the attack and vowed to eat this team alive.
Seeing that the Seventh Company continued like this, it would be damaged here, so Ma Baoyu, the leader of the Sixth Squad of the Seventh Company, asked the instructor to withdraw the company from the battlefield, and his sixth squad left to cover the retreat of the company. At this time, in fact, there were only five people left in the sixth squad, namely: ma Baoyu, the squad leader, Ge Zhenlin, the deputy squad leader, Hu Delin, the warrior Hu Fucai, and the warrior Song Xueyi.
The instructor agreed to their request, and gave them some guns and ammunition, and then told them not to love war, but to retreat while fighting, so under the cover of the sixth class ma Baoyu and others, the seventh company withdrew safely.
In order to confuse the enemy, the remaining five warriors could not understand that our main force had withdrawn, so they deliberately exposed themselves and fought and retreated in the opposite direction until they were forced into a desperate situation...
After the five warriors jumped off the cliff, the deputy squad leader Ge Zhenlin and the soldier Song Xueyi were hanged by the branches of the mountain and survived, but the other three heroes we can never see again. Later, the five of them were also honored by us as the "Five Heroes of Wolf Tooth Mountain",
It became the first group of famous anti-Japanese heroes in China.

In 1945, Japan surrendered unconditionally; in 1949, the Kuomintang reactionaries defeated Taiwan.
