Zhao Zhizhen was born in Yi County, Hebei Province in 1921, as the youngest sister in the family, Zhao Zhizhen was indeed taken care of by the above two brothers from childhood, and later Zhao Zhizhen also read in school, her middle school was in Beiping, and it was precisely because of studying in school that Zhao Zhizhen was exposed to a large number of progressive cultural ideas, and she deeply felt that if she wanted to save China, it was necessary to revolution.
After the outbreak of the "129" movement, Zhao Zhizhen also actively responded and participated, and this movement also greatly affected Zhao Zhizhen's life. The very following year, in 1936, Zhao Zhizhen officially transferred to the Chinese Communist Party.
However, what Zhao Zhizhen did not expect was that the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression broke out in full swing in 1937, and indeed for Zhao Zhizhen and countless other enthusiastic young people, this was very infuriating, and she vowed to fight with the Japanese army, and it was not long before Zhao Zhizhen rushed to the Taihang Mountains with several other like-minded patriotic students, in fact, to join the Eighth Route Army and then fight the Japanese together.
What they didn't expect was that the person who came to greet them this time was Zhao Zhizhen's husband, that is, the founding general Yang Chengwu. At that time, after Yang Chengwu saw Zhao Zhizhen and so many other female students, he was actually reluctant to accept them, because this was a battle with the Japanese army, and several girls suddenly shouted into a group: "We want to be the Eighth Route Army and fight devils!" "When the country is in trouble, Piaf is responsible!" "The nation is in danger, how can we study with peace of mind?"
At this time, the stubborn Zhao Zhizhen bravely stood up and debated with Yang Chengwu, and finally persuaded Yang Chengwu, the leader of the independent regiment of the Eighth Route Army.
After three months of training, Zhao Zhizhen and other students were assigned to the Political Department as officers, mainly responsible for the work of the democracy movement. In the subsequent work, Zhao Zhizhen and Yang Chengwu had many exchanges, and began to slowly deepen their understanding, Zhao Zhizhen found that he admired this general Yang Chengwu very much, and Yang Chengwu also greatly appreciated Zhao Zhizhen, and it was not long before Yang Chengwu plucked up the courage to write a letter, which was actually a love letter, the content was to think of interacting with Comrade Zhao Zhizhen.
The final result was that Zhao Zhizhen agreed, and a simple but lively wedding was held on November 28, 1938.
After the founding of New China, Comrade Zhao Zhizhen held many important positions, such as "Director of the Office of Yang Dai," adviser to the Political Department of the Beijing Garrison District, and in 1988 he was awarded the Second Class Red Star Meritorious Service Medal.
The 7 children of Zhao Zhizhen and her husband Yang Chengwu are also incomparably outstanding, and there are actually 3 major generals among the 7 children, of which the second daughter Yang Junsheng is the first and only female general in the history of China's armed police force.
The eldest son, Yang Dongsheng, was the director of a research institute of the Second Artillery Corps and was awarded the rank of major general in 1998; the second son, Yang Dongming, was promoted to the rank of major general in 1994.
On April 17, 2018, Comrade Zhao Zhizhen, wife of founding general Yang Chengwu, died in Beijing at the age of 98.
