As the first line of defense of the human body, the skin is related to the "face" of interpersonal communication. Especially in some adolescents, if there is a problem with skin health, they will have emotions such as facial anxiety, inferiority and negativity.

Autumn and winter are the seasons when skin problems are most "rampant". A survey of 1,024 adolescents aged 12-17 in Beijing on their awareness and prevalence of skin-related diseases showed that more than 60% of adolescents had been plagued by skin-related diseases; the most common skin symptoms were itching (35.8%), dry or peeling skin (34.4%), erythematous or papules or exudation (14.2%), and more than 10% of adolescents had been diagnosed with atopic dermatitis.

"Atopic dermatitis is a type 2 inflammatory disease that is often characterized by severe itching, skin barrier dysfunction, and reduced quality of life, especially in adolescents." Professor Zhang Jianzhong, director of the Department of Dermatology of Peking University People's Hospital, introduced that atopic dermatitis is also the first disease of the "skin-digestive tract-respiratory tract" allergy process, and patients have often been simply described as "eczema" in the past, which can be accompanied by chronic diseases such as asthma and allergic rhinitis, and even patients have begun to have only atopic dermatitis, because after various conditions delay treatment, from a single disease to multiple complex diseases.

The survey also found that 37% of adolescents with atopic dermatitis could not sleep due to itching, 70% of adolescent patients were affected by growth and development, nearly 52% of adolescents were delayed due to recurrent seizures, and 59% were affected by recurrent episodes. In families diagnosed with atopic dermatitis, 85% of parents have insufficient sleep and mental stress due to the need for their children to accompany them; 52% have repeated visits to the doctor, which affects their parents' work and social activities; 48% have conflicting opinions on treatment, causing family tension.

Professor Zhang Jianzhong stressed, "Clinicians and their families should pay attention to and attach importance to the early diagnosis and early treatment of skin-related diseases, and seek long-term effective and safe treatment methods, so that they can 'cure a child and liberate a family'." ”
