A few days ago, Tesla Motors (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulations in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automobile Products and the Implementation Measures for the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automobile Products, and decided to recall some imported Model S and Model 3, as well as some domestic Model 3 models, for a total of 199741 vehicles.
Tesla announced plans for a domestic recall
Among them, Tesla will recall some imported Model S electric vehicles produced between January 21, 2015 and November 18, 2020, a total of 19,697. This batch of vehicles may have a slightly backward alignment of the front load compartment latch and the locking latch, which may affect the locking of the secondary lock latch. When the primary lock latch is accidentally released, if the secondary lock latch is not locked, the front trunk cover may suddenly open during the vehicle driving, affecting the driver's line of sight, increasing the risk of collision accidents, and there is a safety hazard. Tesla will inspect the secondary locking bolt device of the front trunk lid for the vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge, and if it is found that the front trunk lid is not properly locked by the secondary locking latch device, it will reposition and install the front load compartment locking device to ensure that it is in the correct position to eliminate safety hazards.
Tesla Model 3
At the same time, the company will also recall 35,836 imported Model 3 electric and 144208 domestically produced between October 14, 2018 and November 20, 2019, during the period from October 14, 2019 to December 27, 2020. The trunk lid of these two batches of models can cause excessive wear of the trunk wiring harness after a long period of repeated opening and closing. If this wear causes the core separation of the coaxial cable, it may cause the reversing image to not work properly, thus affecting the driver's field of vision when reversing, and in extreme cases, it will increase the risk of collision when reversing, and there is a safety hazard. Tesla will take two different measures, depending on the specific situation of the model, to install a protective cover or replace the new wiring harness and install a protective cover to reduce safety risks
