The global prevalence of metabolic dysfunction-related fatty liver disease (MAFLD) is as high as 25%, which seriously endangers human health and causes a huge economic burden on society, unhealthy living habits such as sedentary and inactive, unhealthy eating habits such as excessive dietary calories and unreasonable dietary structure are closely related to the increasing incidence of MAFLD [1].
Given the increased risk of cirrhosis, cardiovascular events, and hepatic and extrahepatic malignancies in patients with MAFLD, controlling metabolic risk factors to improve long-term outcomes is an important part of overall management [2].
