Due to chip shortages McLaren Artura will delay deliveries

Recently, there are overseas media reports that due to the impact of chip shortages, McLaren Artura will be delayed until July 2022 delivery, the new car has been accepted in China before the booking, the official price of 2.38 million yuan. The Artura is the first model to be based on the new McLaren Lightweight Carbon Fiber Architecture (MCLA), and the powertrain consists of a new 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 gasoline engine, electric motor and high-energy battery pack, with a combined output of 680 hp, a peak torque of 720 Nm, and an acceleration of 0-100 km/h in just 3.0 seconds.

The motor-matched battery pack consists of five lithium-ion battery modules with a usable capacity of 7.4 kWh and a pure electric range of up to 30 km. The battery pack is cooled by a refrigerant in the manifold channel, which transfers electrical energy from the rear of the vehicle to the distribution unit of the auxiliary equipment in front, on top of the structural carbon fiber baseplate. The integral unit is bolted to the rear of the monomer chassis, resulting in significantly improved stiffness performance and weight distribution, while fully protected against collisions.

Artura offers four power modes, including an all-electric mode with a zero-emission range of up to 30 km. Comfort mode is designed to handle a variety of driving environments, maximizing vehicle range and fuel efficiency. When the speed is below 40 km/h, the driver can turn off the combustion engine with enhanced start-stop mode. When the speed of the vehicle is accelerated and the power demand is higher, the engine can be started gradually. In Sport and Track modes, the motor power output is more powerful. The independent control mode selection helps the driver adjust the hardness of the damper and the degree of intervention of the electronic stability control system according to personal preference, weather and road conditions.
