Historically, every time other countries have a technological blockade, it is the best period for China's development.
The best example is aerospace technology, now that China's aerospace technology has become the world's first, who can imagine that China was once excluded from the aerospace circle?
Now, chips are also coming. The American threat will surely become a joke.
On April 18, Cambrian Technology Co., Ltd. gave the first quarter financial report, and the numbers were stunning.
The revenue was as high as 1.111 billion yuan, and the net profit was 355 million yuan. This means that Chinese chips are about to squeeze into the world circle.
Cambrian has always had high hopes for AI chips, which are a major innovation in their business.
However, Cambrian has been in a state of loss, because they can't develop it, and the cost of research and development is difficult to recover.
In this case, the United States also came up with a trick to control the export of AI chips. What we are afraid of is a Chinese domestic chip R&D company like Cambrian, for fear that Cambrian will learn a little technology.
Second, the United States also wants to take the opportunity to completely dominate the Chinese market. Because if China's industry wants to upgrade and transform, it must follow the times, and if it can't develop core equipment, it will have to be imported at a high price.
Cambrian has always insisted on R&D and innovation in the face of continuous losses and technological blockade. After continuous huge R&D investment, we finally saw some results.
Some predict that Cambrian's products will become a replacement for Nvidia.
For a long time, China has relied on foreign imports for many high-end industrial chains. The most obvious of these is the chip. There is nothing more profound than the mobile phone.
In the past, when chips could be sold unimpeded, the price of Chinese mobile phones was becoming more and more affordable, and because of the good performance of the chip, the overall cost performance of the mobile phone was quite high.
Until later, many chips could not be sold in the Chinese market.
Even if China can buy chips, it is still under the huge cost, and it is barely traded. Who's going to pay in the end? Of course, the people.
In the face of low-cost mobile phones, as a necessity, consumers have no choice but to grit their teeth and buy rotten goods at a high price.
Here, the U.S. chip industry, taking Nvidia as an example, plays the role of an accomplice. Because China can't develop chips, it can only be moved in, so Nvidia has no fear and dares to sell castrated chips to China.
Now, Cambrian has gone against the tide and developed chips that can be put on the market.
The Siyuan 590 chip developed by Cambrian has the following advantages: it matches most mainstream models and is very similar to NVIDIA's A100; Even when paired with mismatched models, the performance can be exerted by 50%; The overall performance reaches 80% of that of the A100.
To put it simply, the Siyuan 590 chip is a replacement for the Nvidia A100.
China has a lot of smart products, which do not need the support of high-end chips, so China has a huge low-end chip market. For a long time, this cake has been firmly controlled by foreign capital.
Now that the Siyuan 590 chip has been successfully developed, it will definitely be able to grab a piece of the pie. When the time comes, Cambrian will no longer be able to make ends meet, and there will be no research and development costs.
Soon after the launch of the Siyuan 590 chip, Cambrian won a lot of customers. The number one customer even shorted 79% of Cambrian's products. Cambrian sales will only get better and better in the future.
In this case, someone is in a hurry. That person is Jensen Huang, who is too afraid that Nvidia will lose the Chinese market.
On April 17, Huang suddenly came to China, and unlike in the past, this time he often made it clear that he attached importance to the Chinese market, saying that Nvidia would continue to cooperate with China.
It seems to have forgotten that under the previous policy of the United States, Nvidia did not hesitate to choose to cooperate and no longer sell any high-performance GPU products to the United States.
Some people may say that Nvidia is in business, and naturally chooses the teammates who are most beneficial to themselves. That's true, but it just shows that Huang is on the line.
Now that China's chip R&D achievements are gradually emerging, why does Huang think that he can continue to occupy the Chinese market if he says that China is an important partner of NVIDIA? Those who have left the table cannot continue to occupy their positions.
For China, the successive export control policies of the United States are indeed a fatal blow. Because China is difficult to support in the research and development of chips, and then if it wants to develop the AI industry, it can only hover at the entry level.
Looking further away, if China wants to achieve industrial upgrading, the biggest obstacle is the U.S. government.
The supply of chips is cut off, and the equipment for manufacturing chips is also cut off, and China can only rely on itself. Cambrian, which stood out this time, is the representative of the first to gain a firm foothold at the mouth of the wind and waves.
Being forced to stand on their own feet by the blockade is the only way for many industries in China to take, and I hope that Cambrian can go on this road for a long time.
On the surface, the breakthrough of China's domestic chips is a game between it and chip companies in other countries, and everyone is competing for the market.
But in fact, it is a scientific and technological war between countries, and whoever has more advanced science and technology will have stronger comprehensive strength.
Next, Chinese chip R&D companies will definitely face more severe policy blows from the United States. It is necessary to seize the tuyere so that China's chip industry can develop.
Judging from market analysis, China's semiconductor industry has risen very significantly, especially for companies that develop chips, and Cambrian's stock has risen by 4.21% at once. This is a good sign.
However, under the influence of the tariff policy, the price of core semiconductor equipment and related materials that the United States can export will definitely rise.
Under the situation that China's chip R&D companies have increased their demand for these equipment and materials simultaneously, China's R&D is still facing the dilemma of "too high input costs".
It can only be said that chip research and development has reached the cold winter period, and it has also reached the critical moment of ushering in spring. If China's chip technology can be gradually improved, such as the castration of chips using Nvidia as an example, there will be no more Chinese money.
The Financial Times published an article on this, saying that the United States has inspired China's chip industry. As can be seen from the photos, the whole world knows that a technological or equipment blockade on China will force China to progress.
The United States, in particular, is afraid that China will steal its teachers, and even more afraid that China will surpass it, so they have introduced a series of policies just to attack China, and in the end, they will follow China's ass.
At present, there is a lot of room for growth in the chips developed and produced in China, and when other countries need to buy chips from China, it means that China's chips have matured.
