Recall of some imported and domestically produced vehicles
The recall of a total of 4,628 C-class vehicles with a production date from March 26, 2021 to September 22, 2021, was recalled.
Recall of 38,318 imported A-class, B-class, E-class, CLA, CLS, GLC SUV, GLB SUV, GLE SUV, GLS SUV, AMG GT vehicles with a production date from October 29, 2018 to June 18, 2021;
The recall will be of 17,312 domestically produced A-class, E-class, GLA, GLB SUV, GLC SUV, and EQC vehicles with production dates from August 15, 2018 to October 13, 2021.
Reason for the recall
Due to software development deviations in vehicles within the scope of this recall, the engine control unit memory may not be able to write the engine start data correctly, resulting in the shutdown and non-restart of the newly started engine, increasing the risk of vehicle collision and potential safety hazards.
When the vehicle is started within the scope of this recall, the MBUX multimedia display may not start normally, resulting in the image of the rearview camera that assists the driver to reverse the car cannot be displayed on the display, which is a safety hazard.
Disposal measures
For vehicles covered by the recall, Beijing Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will upgrade the engine control unit software for the vehicles covered by the recall free of charge through the Authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer to eliminate safety hazards.
For vehicles within the scope of the recall, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. and Beijing Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will upgrade the MBUX multimedia system (intelligent human-computer interaction system) software for the vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge through the vehicle remote upgrade (OTA) technology, and for vehicles that cannot be recalled through the remote upgrade (OTA) technology, the relevant users will be contacted through the Mercedes-Benz Authorized Service Center to upgrade the software for the vehicle free of charge to eliminate safety hazards.

Recall of some imported GT cars
Effective March 25, 2022, the recall of some imported GT vehicles manufactured between November 26, 2019 and August 7, 2021, totaling 329 units.
The connection between the driver airbag and the occupant restraint controller may not be fully engaged in some vehicles within the scope of this recall, resulting in the airbag not being triggered properly and the airbag warning light not lighting. In the event of a collision, there is a safety hazard.
McLaren Automotive Sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. will inspect vehicles covered by the recall free of charge and take steps to ensure that the connection between the driver's airbag and the occupant restraint controller is fully engaged to eliminate safety hazards.
