Guan Zhong said: Tiger poison does not eat children, and a normal person will only redouble his care for his son. He can even poison his own son, let alone you?
Guan Zhong asked Qi Huangong to drive away Kaifang, and Qi Huangong said:
This man followed me for fifteen years, and when his biological father died, he did not go to the funeral to serve me.
How could I bear to drive him away?
Guan Zhong sneered: A person who is not filial to his father, you can't expect him to be loyal to you.
Finally, Guan Zhong suggested that Qi Huangong drive away the marten, and Qi Huangong said:
He was very loyal to me, and he castrated himself as a eunuch for my sake.
Guan Zhong said: Don't you think a person is terrible when he is so cruel that he cuts off his children and grandchildren in order to get rich in order to get promoted to a higher rank?
Later, Guan Zhong died, and Qi Huangong listened to him at first and drove away the mink, Yi Ya, and Kaifang. However, it didn't take long for the three people to be summoned back, because he never understood what Guan Zhong said before he died.
If a person is cold enough to kill his own son and please others; cruel enough to "cut off his children and grandchildren" to rise to the top and get rich; cruel enough to kill his own father, he does not go home to mourn, but also to please the monarch; then he is selfish to the extreme.
How can such a selfish person be faithful to others?
Ordinary people will feel terrible when they hear such things. However, Qi Huangong felt that these three people were very loyal to him.

Qi Huangong did not become faint because of old age. In fact, since his youth, he has liked to be "partial to listening and believing". It's just that when he was young, he happened to believe in the right people.
Duke Huan of Qi lacked the ability to see people's hearts, and after his later hegemony, the heavy state affairs were all handled by Guan Zhong, while he himself only cared about pleasure, and he gave birth to many sons.
After Guan Zhong's death, he himself became terminally ill again. Thus, this large number of sons began to fight for power, and no one took him as the monarch under his eyes.
Behind the story of "Lü's Spring and Autumn", he was blocked by Yi Ya and three other people, and starved to death.
