We all know that the Tang Empire was open and inclusive, and a large number of talented women emerged during that period, usually we call them talented women, such as Xu Hui and Shangguan Wan'er in the early Tang Dynasty, Xue Tao in the Middle Tang Dynasty, and Yu Xuanji in the Late Tang Dynasty. It is difficult to say who is the first talented woman in the Tang Dynasty, each has its own advantages, but when it comes to comprehensive talents, Shangguan Wan'er still comes out on top among the four people, followed by Xu Hui, again Xue Tao, and Yu Xuanji is the last. Of course, this is only the words of the four girls' family, not absolutely.

Here the four girls will talk about the four talented girls in chronological order:
Xu Hui: Xu Hui is from the Xu clan of the Great Wall, and can also be regarded as a family family. Xu Hui was different from other female dolls from birth, she could talk at five months, then liked to read, at the age of four she was already familiar with the Analects, etc., at the age of eight she could write poetry, and the poems she wrote were quite good. Therefore, it was famous and naturally entered Li Shimin's ears, so he entered the palace after Xu Huihui. One of Xu Hui's favorite things to do after entering the palace was to read books, and then write poems, which were beautifully written, which was appreciated by Li Shimin, and Xu Hui was also promoted from a talented person to a concubine and then to a full face. One of the most famous things Xu Hui did was to write a letter of advice to Li Shimin in his later years, writing the famous "Resignation of Emperor Taizong". At that time, the background was that Li Shimin repeatedly demanded to attack Goguryeo and built a large number of civil engineering, and Xu Hui hoped that Li Shimin could strike Goguryeo and stop the construction of civil engineering. This shows Xu Hui's extremely high political foresight, which is not possessed by ordinary harem women. It was also praised by Li Shimin. After Li Shimin's death, Xu Hui also died the following year at the age of 24.
Shangguan Wan'er: 14 years after Xu Hui's death, Shangguan Wan'er was born in the Shangguan family, Wan'er's grandfather was the then prime minister Shangguan Yi, because of the drafting of the edict for Li Zhi to abolish the post-mortem edict and angered Wu Zetian, when Wan'er was still in infancy, her father and grandfather were killed, Wan'er and her mother also did not enter the court as slaves, fortunately, Wan'er received her mother's good teachings from an early age, poetry was first-class, and was favored by Wu Zetian, and took her with her as a secretary and was in charge of the palace. It is known as the "Prime Minister". During the Wu Zetian period, Shangguan Wan'er's power was not very great, and after Wu Zetian's death, Wan'er continued to participate in political affairs as Emperor Zhaorong of Zhongzong, and was attached to Princess Taiping, and advised Li Xian not to make Princess Anle the empress dowager several times. She presided over the establishment of the Xiuwen Hall, added bachelors, presided over the elegance, promoted the lyricists, and substituted articles in the world, which was sought after by the literati bachelors, and its Shangguan body was developed, it can be said that Shangguan Wan'er led a generation of literary styles. In 710, a coup d'état took place in Tang Long, and Wan'er was killed by Li Longji.
Xue Tao: Half a century after Shangguan Wan'er's death, Xue Tao was born, and the Xue family was also the home of official eunuchs. Xue Tao received a good education since childhood, quite talented, originally Xue Tao would have a good future in Chang'an, but then Xue Tao's father was relegated to Sichuan, and the family had to trek through mountains and rivers to Sichuan to live. When Xue Tao was 14 years old, her father died, and the situation of the mother and daughter suddenly became difficult, and Xue Tao had to rely on his beauty and outstanding talent to enter the music and become a prostitute. Xue Tao soon became a celebrity, having contacts with many of the poetry masters of the time, and in 785 was favored by Wei Gao, the envoy of jiannan jiedushi. Soon Xue Tao became a red man around Wei Gao, and even did some case work, Wei Gao once asked the imperial court to grant Xue Tao the post of school secretary, but failed to do so, but Xue Tao really did the work of school secretary. Later, Because Xue Tao angered Wei Gao, he was almost sent to Songzhou to spend this life, or Wei Gao was soft-hearted and recalled Xue Tao, and when Xue Tao was twenty years old, she redeemed herself.
In 809, the 42-year-old Xue Tao met the 31-year-old Yuan Shu, and the two quickly fell in love, but within three months, the two people separated, in order to understand the pain of lovesickness, the two often passed on the book, and Xue Tao even invented Xue Tao's note for this. But this love was doomed to bear fruit, and later Xue Tao began to put on the Daoist robe and live in seclusion. All the way to death. Xue Tao is a rare cold woman, talented, and dusty, whether it is poetry or writing, there is no woman's delicacy and grace, but the atmosphere is cold.
Yu Xuanji: More than ten years after Xue Tao's death, Yu Xuanji was born. Yu Xuanji has been very talented since childhood, but it is also the early death of his father and his mother. When she was a teenager, she met a very important man in her life, he was Wen Tingjun, the two had a lot of contact, and often came to a poem to sing and sing. Although Yu Xuanji admired Wen Tingjun, Wen Tingjun, who was more than thirty years older than Yu Xuanji, refused to respond to this feeling, but instead introduced Yu Xuanji to Li Yi, who had just become a champion and the first. Soon, Li Yi married Yu Xuanji as a concubine. Yu Xuanji's beauty and talent were jealous of Mrs. Li Yizheng, who often found various reasons to embarrass Yu Xuanji, and at this time Li Yi never turned a blind eye. A few years later, Madame Zhengmu forced Li Yi to get Yu Xuanji to Xianyiguan to become a monk, and a few years later completely abandoned Yu Xuanji. Yu Xuanji's temperament changed greatly for this reason. In the name of poetry friends, the men came to the Taoist Temple to live happily. Later, Yu Xuanji suspected that the maid Lu Qiao had a personal affair with his own friendship, and flogged and killed Lu Qiu. Yu Xuanji was also imprisoned for this and was soon beheaded.
