The Tesla Model Y model won IIHS's highest safety award

Recently, the American Highway Safety Insurance Association (hereinafter referred to as IIHS) awarded the highest award "Top Safety Pick+" to the 2021 and 2022 Tesla Model Y. In addition to receiving "G" (excellent) in six categories, including driver-side 25% offset collision, passenger-side 25% bias collision, frontal collision, side impact, roof strength and seat test, the vehicle must be equipped with a front pre-collision system and receive a high rating to receive this award.

It is worth mentioning that IIHS said that this year, Tesla Model Y removed the radar sensor, using a pure visual way to assist driving, once let the safety certification body remove the original rating, and now Tesla has proved that it can indeed rely on camera perception to achieve a high level of active safety.

From 2020 to 2021, a total of six new energy vehicles won the award, namely: Tesla Model 3, Tesla Model Y, Audi e-tron, Audi e-tron Sportsback, Volkswagen ID.4, Hyundai Nexo (hydrogen energy).
