Compared with COROLLA, RAV4, CROWN, ALLION, which are the most popular models for Chinese consumers in the Toyota brand, the name HARRIER may be a little strange to many people. But if I tell you that the first and second generation HARRIER was once the first and second generation Lexus RXs that have dominated the North American market, then you may be impressed with HARRIER.
Do you think the second generation of HARRIER is particularly familiar? Yes, because the second-generation Lexus RX was introduced to the domestic market, in fact, more than a decade ago, harrier came to China in the guise of Lexus and became a popular model among consumers.
In November this year, FAW Toyota finally officially introduced the latest generation of HARRIER to China and named it Lingfang. Seizing the share of the high-end SUV market for FAW Toyota is still the historical mission that HARRIER Lingfang needs to shoulder.
For the creation of high-end boutique models, I believe that Toyota will never lack experience in this area, but as we all know, in this new era of enthusiasm for digitalization and intelligence, if it still stays in the traditional human-computer interaction mode of the past, the lack of practical intelligent network functions, it is more and more difficult to meet the needs of high-end consumer groups by traditional means such as design and work materials.
FAW Toyota HARRIER Lingfang has made a lot of new attempts and improvements in this regard, and I will talk to you about some of the places that impressed me more deeply in the aspects of HARRIER Lingfang in terms of technology and intelligence.
Many people say that Lingfang is currently the most beautiful SUV under Toyota, but in my opinion, Lingfang's interior and hidden technology configuration are the most surprising places for me.
Many Toyota fans will know that Toyota brand models in the interior, especially in the center console design layout, in the past more follow the simple and practical easy to operate of the big principle, rather than too much energy on improving the visual perception. This is also a place that is often complained about by many young people.
But after seeing LingFang's new interior style, I think Toyota has finally "opened up". Not only has the shape of the center console changed dramatically, but the addition of two 12.3-inch high-resolution LCD screens is enough to make Ling Place stand out among all the models with the same door, forming a significant "generation difference".
Of course, large LCD screens are not uncommon, and I am more concerned about Toyota's latest car system behind these two screens. What they bring is not only an improvement in visual perception, but actually a new attempt by Toyota in human-computer interaction.
First of all, let's talk about the locomotive system of Lingfang.
Because the screen is larger, the main interface of this car-machine system adopts a card-like design with a higher degree of completion, and the order of the cards and the corresponding functions can be customized in the background. The entrances to the most commonly used functions such as navigation, music entertainment, and vehicle settings are fixed directly to the left side of the screen.
Similarly, the functions that can only be achieved by relying on physical buttons have also been integrated into the car machine system, and the overall DESIGN logic of the UI and menu level is still quite humane, which has been significantly improved compared with the past.
The core of this car-machine system is the latest Built-in Toyota Zhixing Interconnection System. Through the FAW Toyota app installed on the mobile phone, the remote vehicle lock, remotely turn on/off the double flashing lights, remotely turn on the air conditioner, map car search, generate vehicle health report, negligence/fault reminder and other functions can be realized through the mobile phone.
In addition to the various functions that can be implemented on the mobile phone side, Ling is also perfect and adds a lot of new features on the car machine side, in addition to installing some third-party apps to achieve more entertainment functions, such as on different menu interfaces, the upper left corner will hint at some voice interaction commands that you can use.
At present, through voice commands, not only can the system volume, air conditioning system, set navigation and other common functions, but also I actually experienced that the speed and accuracy of speech recognition are good, and the language of response is closer to the way ordinary people speak.
In addition, the "Know You Mode" in this system is also a particularly useful feature. This "understand you mode" is essentially a "shortcut key" that can achieve different functional combinations in different scenarios, and it also supports rapid switching through voice commands, which is still very practical. It would be even better if it could support more customization features.
Interestingly, Lingfang also added a central facial recognition function, which can not only quickly log in to the system and synchronize related data after activation, but also realize the function of mobile payment, which is safe and convenient. This is also a relatively rare joint venture model at present.
For the whole set of car and machine system, I am still relatively satisfied with it. Although there is still some gap in the degree of intelligence and experience with those new power brands, it is definitely the best car engine system in the Current Toyota brand. Even compared to other joint venture brand models that I have experienced recently, it is already quite good.
I think Lingfang's sense of science and technology also reflects the "intelligent improvement" of some traditional functions.
For example, our most common seat ventilation and heating functions are linked to the air conditioner on the positioning. Simply put, if you need to cool down, you will automatically open the seat ventilation function, and when you need to increase the temperature of the cabin in winter, you will automatically turn on the seat heating, "smart" a lot.
Fully automatic zoned individual air conditioning is not as simple as it used to be, and it is now possible to identify empty seats for automatic adjustment. That said, if you're alone in the car, just focus on the temperature near the driving location.
There is also a dimmable panoramic sunroof, which I have seen for the first time on a model at this price point. This panoramic sunroof with sun blinds looks unremarkable, but he actually specifies the dimming mode and the transmission mode.
The light transmission mode is the appearance of the ordinary sunroof, but after switching to the dimming mode, it will instantly become a visual sense similar to "frosted glass", so that the light in the car becomes softer at the same time, but also to ensure that the car can be bright enough, very interesting.
There are many similar intimate functions, although it is not how amazing the "black technology" is, but for users, it is a kind of "moisturizing and silent" service, which will bring practical improvement to the car experience.
