Huang Wei, born in 1904, was a senior general of the Kuomintang during the Republic of China period and a native of Guixi, Jiangxi. A graduate of the first phase of the Whampoa Military Academy, he participated in the Battle of Songhu, the Defense of Wuhan, and the Burmese Counteroffensive. He was the commander of the 12th Corps of the National Revolutionary Army, commonly known as the "Huang Wei Corps", and was defeated and captured in the Battle of Huaihai. In 1975, he was pardoned as the last war criminal. On March 20, 1989, he died of a heart attack in Beijing at the age of 85.

Huang Wei's origin is not very good, is a peasant son of Guixi Shengyuan, Jiangxi, because of the early death of his father, family life is poor, after reading the county's first higher primary school, he was admitted to the Goose Lake Normal School, and returned to his hometown as a primary school teacher after graduation.

Although her later performance did not mean to be "afraid" or "marry the wrong one", in the face of her, this sentence will indeed be remembered.
At first, Cai Ruoshu and her children followed Huang Wei on the battlefield, and although she was weak, she could still take care of Huang Wei, the person she loved. On November 6, 1948, our People's Liberation Army launched the Huaihai Campaign, and this was not the case. At that time, Huang Wei entrusted Cai Ruoshu and his three children, including Huang Huinan, who had only been born not long ago, to Lian Xiang, and went to the Huaihai Battlefield, leading the 12th Corps from Zhumadian to Xuzhou via Mengcheng and Su County (present-day Suzhou City, Anhui Province). Subsequently, more than 100,000 of his troops were crammed into a narrow strip of land, unable to retreat, and surrounded by our People's Liberation Army.
Our People's Liberation Army issued an ultimatum to the 12th Corps, and Huang Wei refused to surrender. On December 14, our People's Liberation Army launched a final attack on it, huang Wei saw that the situation was not good, and Hu Lian, deputy commander-in-chief of the corps, each fled in an armored vehicle, and as a result, the armored car broke down, Huang Wei was captured alive, and the corps was cleanly wiped out. There is such a detail in the middle: After the 12th Corps was heavily surrounded by double piles, our commander had already understood Huang Wei's character, knew that he was a teacher, superstitious in books, stuck to stereotypes, and always loved to find a basis in books. When Cai Ruoshu heard the news, he was heartbroken, and then led 3 children (one of whom was Huang Zhe) and fled to Taiwan with a large number of the families of the nationalist generals. Although she was not sure that Huang Wei was still alive at that time, in her heart, she had never given up the hope that Huang Wei was still alive. Two years later, she got the news that Huang Wei might still be alive, came to Hong Kong alone, heard the news that Huang Wei was indeed alive, and took the children to Hong Kong, and the family secretly moved to Shanghai.
The days that followed were very hard for Cai Ruoshu, who had to support not only 3 children, but also an old nanny hired. At that time, she was in her early 30s, and when she was a woman in her prime, she found a job in the library and struggled to support the family. She was obsessed with the early pardon of her husband Huang Wei, but Huang Wei, who was reformed at the Gongdelin War Criminals Management Center in Beijing, was too stubborn until his release in 1975. At this time, it had been exactly 27 years since the Battle of Huaihai.
It is said that as early as 1959, Cai Ruoshu suffered from schizophrenia, severe auditory hallucinations, and her relatives knew that she was no longer right, but the upbringing of everyone made her extremely restrained in front of outsiders and still work in the library as usual. After 16 years, the couple reunited, and her symptoms of schizophrenia became more severe. Huang Wei was arranged to work in the CppcC Literature and History Materials Research Committee, serving as a commissioner of literature and history, and every day she left work at noon and in the afternoon, she had to wait at the door of her home for Huang Wei to return, afraid that Huang Wei would be taken away. After Huang Wei was pardoned, the two of them took a photo together, and the photo showed her wearing a white shirt, which was already a fat old mother.
According to the youngest daughter Huang Huinan, although Huang Wei was very thin at that time, his face was still full of stubbornness and slaughter. Huang Huinan said that when the family went to Beijing to pick up Huang Wei, "Mom and Dad were light, and there was no great joy or sorrow." She remembered that before leaving, Cai Ruoshu had said to her: "This time you have a father, I am relieved." In her previous upbringing, there was no "father", and when Huang Wei was captured, she was less than 3 months old.
People do not know whether Cai Ruoshu's words to her daughter at that time were a joyful comfort or a sad sigh, but people know that because of the schizophrenia that arrived in Beijing, Cai Ruoshu seemed to be a drag on Huang Wei's life, and Huang Wei not only did not give her the care and love she deserved, but also let her 27 years of hard work and wait go to waste.
After entering Gongdelin, Huang Wei devoted all his efforts to the scientific research of perpetual motion machines in order to escape the "ideological reform", and in 1968, he was sponsored by the prison to carry out experiments, but failed. A perpetual motion machine is a machine that does not require external input energy or only needs an initial amount of energy to work forever. In people's imagination, it is a mechanical device that can constantly move automatically, but also can lift heavy objects and do something meaningful. Historically, it has been discussed and studied, but until the 21st century, no one really made it. After Huang Wei was released, he still did not give up the study of perpetual motion machines.
The problem lies in Huang Wei's research on perpetual motion machines. Because of his schizophrenia, Huang Wei was always reluctant to communicate too much with Cai Ruoshu after being released. In May 1976, Cai Ruoshu learned that Huang Wei's eldest son, Huang Xin, had been reinstated as an associate professor at Shandong Agricultural College, and was anxious to tell Huang Wei the news, but Huang Wei indulged in research and ignored her. She said, "Didn't you hear me?" Huang Xin is reinstated! Huang Wei didn't even look at her, and said these two words to her: "Get out!" ”
In front of these two words, Cai Ruoshu couldn't stand it, and the beautiful woman who had been waiting for 27 years and who had married Huang Wei at the age of 24 was violently resurrected in her heart, and suddenly felt that she should leave. She took some medicine and went to sleep quietly, Huang Wei saw that she slept well and then left, but she got up and went out the door alone and walked into the moat... The day was May 8, and it was said that the peach blossoms in Beijing had not yet completely withered, and she submerged herself under the warm and cold water.
Huang Wei heard the news, jumped into the moat to save people, he could not swim he almost drowned, after the crowd rescued him, he was seriously ill, even Cai Ruoshu's funeral could not participate. At this time, what else can people say? Is Cai Ruoshu "marrying the wrong"? It doesn't seem to be. It is said that Cai Ruoshu often has a book next to her pillow, which is the story book she once told her young daughter, which has the story of Su Wu shepherding sheep. At that time, the little daughter had to listen to the stories she told every day to sleep peacefully. In the story, there is a poem that Su Wu left for his wife when he left:
"Life should be returned, death should be Sauvignon Blanc."
From the restoration to Ruoshu, Cai Weixin and Cai Ruoshu completed their life course in this way.
