I believe that most of what many people know about Lin Huiyin is her origin, not a concubine, and later Liang Qichao's daughter-in-law, Liang Sicheng's lover, and Xu Zhimo's scandals. And her own strengths and talents are the most inconspicuous and unobtrusive things among them. But in fact, Lin Huiyin's attainment in her own profession, architecture, is also very high.
Lin Huiyin was a famous talented woman in the Republic of China period, she was equally famous with Bingxin, and was sought after by many people at that time. Lin Huiyin studied in foreign countries in his youth, studied architecture, and was very talented. Later, in 1949, Premier Zhou Enlai proposed to build a cemetery for the heroes who threw their heads and spilled their blood for the founding of New China.
This is a different cemetery than ever before, and there is no precedent to refer to or follow. This is a national cemetery, built specifically for the martyrs of the revolution, and must be magnificent and solemn, without a trace of entertainment. In addition, this cemetery represents the respect and commemoration of the martyrs by the Communist Party of China and the newly established country of China, and represents the dignity and decency of a country, which must be built with caution and care.
Although the founding of the People's Republic of China in the past four or nine years, although there are not many talents in architecture, all of them are talents and masters who are proficient in architecture. After considering and apprehensing many aspects of the proposed multiple plans, it was finally decided to give the cemetery to Lin Huiyin for design.
Under the design of Lin Huiyin, a year later, the cemetery successfully completed the initial construction. The initially completed Babaoshan Cemetery looks particularly magnificent, looking down from above like a freshly blooming white flower, which looks fresh and beautiful under the surrounding green trees.
The Babaoshan Cemetery designed by Lin Huiyin is mainly divided into two large parts, namely the columbarium and the cemetery area. Lin Huiyin herself was buried in tomb area No. 2, lying in the cemetery she personally designed and had her own painstaking efforts. Until now, Lin Huiyin's tomb is the place where it is most worshipped.
Lin Huiyin and Liang Sicheng were a very enviable couple during the Republic of China period, and there were too many similarities between them.
Lin Huiyin was born in a family of eunuchs, although she was not the concubine of the family, but her father was very fond of her, not only set a relationship for her and Liang Sicheng, but also sent Lin Huiyin to the United States to study.
Not to mention Liang Sicheng, we all know that in the late Qing Dynasty, there were two officials who dared to write on the bus in the face of the oppression of the Qing government, they were Kang Youwei and Liang Qichao. And Liang Qichao is Liang Sicheng's father.
After Lin Huiyin's father died unexpectedly, Liang Qichao took good care of Lin Huiyin because of this family affair, and Liang Sicheng also liked to be like-minded and loved lin Huiyin, a talented woman who shared his love for ancient architecture. Therefore, after graduating in the United States, the two returned to China for a wedding. It can be said that Lin Huiyin and Liang Sicheng were a rare couple in the Republic of China period who were in love and married freely, and they have always respected each other as guests after marriage, and they are intimate and loving couples.
After returning to the motherland, Lin Huiyin and Liang Sicheng founded the Department of Architecture of Tsinghua University together, hoping to cultivate more architectural talents for China, spread the knowledge and experience they learned in the advanced country of the United States in China, and improve our country's architectural strength through learning, thereby improving China's comprehensive national strength.
After marriage, the two also compiled books on Chinese architecture together, hoping to make China's ancient architecture liked and inherited by more people. Because of their love of ancient architecture, they abandoned the stable and prosperous life in Beijing and often traveled all over the country to toil, just to record and restore the cultural relics and knowledge that belonged to china. Liang Sicheng wrote a textbook before the Battle of Pingjin, and after handing it over to the Communist army, he successfully protected the ancient architecture of Beiping, which is of great significance to the history of Chinese architecture. Lin Huiyin also participated in the overall design of China's national emblem and people's monument, and the couple is a well-deserved founder of Chinese architecture.
Lin Huiyin and Liang Sicheng are leading figures in Chinese architecture, and after their deaths, they were also buried in Babaoshan for their outstanding contributions, but in different positions, which undoubtedly makes people curious, but the reason is very simple.
Because Liang Sicheng was a Chinese government official during his lifetime, he was also buried in Babaoshan after his death, and Lin Hui, because he did not hold any position during his lifetime, the location of the couple's burial was far apart.
Summary: Lin Huiyin is an accomplished architect in China, and although her story with Xu Zhimo and Liang Sicheng is well known, she is actually an extremely talented architect herself. And designing Babaoshan is just something she has done in her life that is not humane.
