Speaking of Babaoshan, it was a burial place long ago, and during the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, the emperor built a steel tomb for the eunuchs. An ancient temple building surrounded by ancient trees, pines and cypresses, and a quiet and elegant paradise, called the ZhongzhongGuo Ancestral Hall.
Later, it became a place for the ming and qing eunuchs to retire after they left the palace. Over the past few years, a number of temples and ancestral halls have been established before and after the eight treasures mountain. In 1950, at the request of the Prime Minister, it was designated as the Babaoshan Cemetery Cemetery. In 1970, it was officially renamed as Beijing Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery.

Later, all the people buried here were deceased state leaders and senior generals of the army at a higher level, including Zhu Laozong, Dong Biwu, Peng Dehuai and other revolutionary greats and generals.
The second cemetery is home to some celebrities who have made outstanding contributions in education, culture and science, including Lin Huiyin, chief designer of the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery, and the painter Xu Beihong.
The third cemetery is to bury some leading cadres at or above the county and regimental levels at a lower level. In 1958, after the establishment of the Columbarium in the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery, the ashes began to be stored one after another, and the ashes of some soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country during the war were also moved here. In 2006, the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery expanded the columbarium wall and put it into use.
In 2016, the construction of a martyrs' memorial park integrating the martyrs' memorial square and the martyrs' burial area began, where more than 600 pieces of ashes were buried, including peacekeeping martyrs who sacrificed their precious lives for world peace, police officers who sacrificed their lives to protect people's property and life safety, soldiers who sacrificed for national security, and medical personnel who died in the prevention and control of SARS.
