Toyota has accelerated its plans to produce electric vehicles and will launch 30 models by 2030

According to The Verge, Toyota is speeding up its plans to produce electric vehicles, with 30 models available by 2030. Toyota had previously promised to release 15 electric models by 2025, and the new plan was obviously larger. Toyota also said it aims to sell 3.5 million pure electric vehicles by 2030 and will convert its Lexus to a pure electric vehicle brand worldwide by 2035. Toyota will invest about $17.6 billion in automotive battery technology, up from the previously claimed $13.6 billion.

Toyota was a pioneer in electrification, proving that models that alternative powertrains could be very popular, paving the way for later-emerging electric car brands such as Tesla. Unfortunately, Toyota's subsequent pace on the road to the development of electric vehicles seems to be somewhat slow, more inclined to some hybrid models, so it is far behind competitors, and the response speed is almost the slowest in traditional car companies.

Traditional car companies such as Nissan, General Motors and Volkswagen have been selling all-electric models, while also revealing plans to phase out gasoline models. Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda has always said in public that the trend of electric vehicles is "exaggerated", partly because of the problem of gas emissions, which is also a topic that is easy to be hyped in recent years. However, Akio Toyoda has recently changed his attitude, saying that he will reduce exhaust emissions by releasing more electric models to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Toyota has unveiled a series of concept models, including cars, sports cars, SUVs and pickups, but did not disclose many details of the vehicle.
