Although I have seen it at the Beijing Motorcycle Exhibition, I have not had the opportunity to test drive, and recently I took the road to Changsha to test drive.
Modern retro look
The Triumph Trident 660, also known as the "Trident", is a brand new model and a very retro sports street car. The Trident 660 features a new retro style with round LED headlights, rounded fuel tanks, shorter rear seats and concealed exhausts, making the motorcycle look sporty and modern.
Even if this is a brand new model, it still has a lot of classic Triumph genes, so that people can know at a glance that this is a Triumph motorcycle. Although it is equipped with an in-line three-cylinder engine, the size of the vehicle is very compact, and it does not look like the size of a 650 class model, and because of the compact body, the control of the Trident 660 is worth looking forward to.
Detailed configuration
Round LED headlights, although the appearance is very retro, but the LED lamp source gives it a certain sense of technology, headlights with the Plumph logo in the center, but also the headlights are divided into two, this design is quite popular in sports retro models. The front and rear turn signals are also LED forms, and the turn signals have an automatic return function.
The simple taillights blend perfectly into the back seat of the short tail, and the red color of the taillights is the same color as the surrounding decorative panels, further enhancing the sense of unity, and the taillights also have a Triumph logo that highlights the identity.
Handlebar button layout is regular and workmanship, the key function distinction is obvious, because of the multi-function instrument, the left side has four more arrow keys and a confirmation key, the right side is the start switch and double flash, but only the brake horn supports the angle adjustment function,
The car is equipped with a coloured TFT round instrument panel with My Triumph mobile connection (optional), road and rain riding modes, switchable traction control (integrated into the ride mode), tire pressure display and electronic throttle, and optional two-way quick train.
The rounded fuel tank is quite retro, and the recesses on both sides of the fuel tank are also designed to strengthen friction, and the capacity is only 14L, which is not large in the same class.

The 41mm Showa SFF inverted fork does not provide adjustment function, and the 310mm dual front brake discs, with Nissin dual-piston calipers, the axial layout of the caliper seems to be less interesting, but the braking force is still quite good.
Showa's mid-mounted rear suspension supports preload adjustment function, and the rear suspension has enough space for easy adjustment operation.
The 255mm rear single disc is paired with Nissin single-piston calipers, and the tires are the Road 5 model provided by Michelin, which is a semi-hot melt tire with strong comprehensive performance, and has high wear resistance, and the grip on dry and wet surfaces is very good.

The Trident 660 is a brand new product, so this 660cc displacement in-line three-cylinder water-cooled engine is also completely new, with a maximum power of 59.7kW/10250 rpm and a maximum torque of 65Nm/8000rpm. According to Triumph, the engine delivers 90% of the torque over most rpm ranges, with an auxiliary sliding clutch and optional quick couplings.
