The Volkswagen Group statement also said that Volkswagen plans to build more gigafactories in Spain and Eastern Europe, and the exact location of the remaining two gigafactories will be decided in the first half of 2022. Volkswagen intends to open two more battery pack plants in Europe by 2030.
