After six years, in 1942, he successfully graduated from the Hangzhou Air Force Officer School and was incorporated into the Fifth Brigade of the Chinese Air Force, stationed in the Zhijiang Airport area.
A year later, he was included in Chennault's specially formed "Flying Tigers" and became the pride of the air force. A head-on confrontation with the Japanese Air Force began with a huge disparity in strength. At that time, the number of aircraft of our army was very small, and even a fraction of the number of Japanese aircraft could not catch up, so every pilot at that time regarded the aircraft as more important than his own life. Wu Qiyuan is no exception!
During his flying career, he shot down a total of five Japanese planes and crossed the Hump Route, then known as the Line of Death, four times.
Maybe this number is not very large in people's eyes, but at that time, the difference between our army's aircraft and Japan's aircraft equipment and weapons was really not a star and a half, the number of aircraft mileage was far less than that of the Japanese army, the range was even more out of reach, and the number of Japanese aircraft shot down by our army was very small and small, even if it happened to be shot down, most of them were also a plane destroyed and killed.
Wu Qiyuan was shot down by enemy planes three times, but he was a child who was taken care of by heaven, and although he was seriously injured every time, he still woke up at the end of each time. During his more than 800-hour air combat journey, he was awarded the "Flying Cross Medal of Merit" and the "Aviation Medal".
The East Window incident is in the doom
After the end of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the outbreak of a war between the Kuomintang and the Communists, Wu Qiren did not want to watch Chinese fight Chinese, so he resigned from his original post and entered the United States Military Academy at West Point to study abroad.

But fate always likes to joke with people, the sudden domestic chaos, so that Wu Qiyuan has a false stain, under the circumstances at that time, no matter how Wu Qiyuan defends, how to prove it is useless, and finally ended up in a bell and prison. This prison is a full twenty years.
He survived hard and was recalled for reuse six years later
In 1974, Wu Qiyuan finally walked out of the prison gate, more than half a hundred years old, he did not have any land, and there was a false stain on his head that was difficult to wash away, even if he was knowledgeable and capable, no one dared to hire him, so he could only rely on pedaling a tricycle every day to survive.
Hard work from morning to night, three hundred and sixty-five days a year, can only earn one dollar and two cents a day. This hard life lasted for six full years, and it was not until 1980 that the Wu Qiyuan incident was cleared.
After that, the construction of the country is in a critical period, extremely short of talents, and Wu Qichen once studied in the United States, proficient in English, the state took this into account and ordered him to be recalled, after some deliberation and decision, finally arranged him to Hangzhou University as a herbarid, and served as a practical training guide of the Aviation University.
On October 13, 2010, the ninety-three-year-old veteran revolutionary soldier passed away peacefully, ending his wonderful life of ups and downs.
